I understand what you're saying, but the Jets aren't just a little lower. They're a lot lower and didn't get much in return. IMO they should have at least gotten both the 6th and 7th round picks from the Rams to move down 20 spots in the 4th round.
Didn't we pick up Pryor's 5th year option? How much in dead money is he to cut? Yeah, idk Macc. A 2nd for Richardson is a no brainer. There is no guarantee we get a comp pick for him... ridiculous.
Mac knew better. A 2nd round pick with the Jets is usually a waste. I think Dallas offered a 2nd but Mac countered with a 3rd and the Cowboys said no thanks.
Well they didn't....maybe other teams realize what I was saying too....you have to compare the Jets trade down to all the other trade downs that just happened and see what kind of value they got before you criticize it Let's see who the Jets get coming up vs what they could have drafted before the trade down. Who was your can't miss guy before the trade down today?
Pumphrey, Malone, Davenport, & Sharpe now gone. Guess the Jets didn't like any of the OTs well enough to take one. Pumphrey would have been a nice return weapon. Malone is tall and fast. Don't know if he has #1 WR potential, but was a good prospect. My curiosity is really piqued to see who Mac will take.
It's ridiculous. We could have traded out of the 2nd. But no. Fuck it, let's stock pile 6th rounders. Our trade down in the late 3rd was more lucrative than our trade down in the early 3rd LOL.
Again all depends on each draft.....better comparison is all of the trade downs in the same area in THIS draft to understand the value
1st, it's 16 spots. 2nd, 7th rounder will be dismissed with a smug "So they can't pick a starter in 2nd, but 7th makes a difference?" attitude. 3rd. Who in those 16 picks between 125 and 140 was so important that keys should've stayed?
Pats generally don't draft that great, they draft decent, what makes them great is that it's their other personnel decisions are probably the best in the league.
