but that is not what I have done, he may be telling partial truth but it's not a good look when a)he won't talk to the independent investigator and b) he lied about one of the things he was telling us about. I reserve final judgment until all the facts are out but I'd trust Roy and all the previous players over Rashad.
First you attacked him as a nut job delusional clown. You attacked the vitim just like a defense lawyer would in a rape case. Now days later you're pointing to an insignificant lie such that everything else he has said now must be a lie. Another defense lawyer tactic. And you fail to believe and or explain how 2 independant sources have different copies of his transcript showing straight A's and Dean's List at prestigious University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, yet he failed a bunch of other classses and got D's in others. So is he a nut job? Delusional? Clown? Brilliant? A liar? All of the above? You seem to want to believe everything that would vindicate YOUR school and dimiss anything that could implicate them. Even the whistleblower. She must have had an issue with Roy Williams too and blames him for her failure to have aproductive NBA career. That seems legit. _
I'm just stating facts. It's not insignificant, he went on Nat'l TV and blasted Roy and this lie was part of it. I don't dismiss everything but I don't trust a guy who was bashing Roy(along w/ his dad) a few years ago b/c no NBA team wanted to deal w/ his psychotic behavior. It's ben that way from the start, matt Doherty had him see a psychiatrist, he's an NBA all star talent and can't get back in the league and blames Roy. In my opinion this was an act of a desperate man. If that is proven incorrect I will say so, so far he presents an underwhelming case just like Mary Willingham. I don't know what her motives were but she doesn't appear to be credible either but we'll see.
New article- more of the same-but still can't understand the transcript issue. The last blurb about UNC's own investigation pretty much confirms some of what Willingham has stated all along. Gotta hope subpoenas don't start showing up on campus any time soon. http://www.universityherald.com/art...n-calls-on-roy-williams-to-be-accountable.htm UNC Academic Scandal: Rashad McCants Stands By His 'Paper Class' Admission, Calls on Roy Williams to be Accountable Rashad McCants is standing by his admission to taking fraudulent "paper classes" in order to remain eligible to play basketball at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. According to ESPN, McCants appeared on "Outside the Lines" (OTL) Wednesday to stand by comments he made last week on the show. In that interview, McCants alleged that several of his teammates were in paper classes and their coach, Roy Williams, knew it was going on. Since, Williams has appeared on ESPN, granting Jay Bilas with a one-on-one interview while several former players looked on to support their coach. McCants was part of the 2004-2005 Tar Heels team that won the National Championship and sent four first round draft picks to the NBA that year. "If you want to find the truth, the truth is there in the transcripts," McCants said on OTL Wednesday. In the initial interview OTL displayed some of McCants' transcript, though it was labeled as "unofficial." In his so-called "paper classes," which were all within the African American Studies (AFAM) dept., McCants received 10 As, six Bs, one C and one D. In non-AFAM classes, he earned six Cs, one D and three Fs. Williams denied knowing about these "paper classes," which only require students to write one paper to receive a grade for the entire course. According to Mary Willingham, the whistleblower and former UNC reading specialist, these classes catered almost exclusively to football and basketball players. Paper class students did not even write their own papers in some cases. McCants told OTL last week that a tutor wrote his and in one semester, he even made the Dean's List because of his grades in four AFAM courses. McCants also stood by his admission that Williams steered him to take paper classes when the player was close to becoming academically ineligible. "How are you getting paid millions of dollars to be a coach?" McCants said. "How is that you're not accountable for what your athletes do off the floor? "Maybe he's getting a little old. You know, that's something that I can't ... I don't have any control over what he remembers. All I know is the truth. And I'm not up here to lie about anything." ESPN basketball analyst and a former player Jalen Rose joined OTL Wednesday as a guest. Rose also questioned Williams' accountability for claiming to be involved in his players' academic careers, but to claim to not know anything about paper classes. UNC-Chapel Hill even conducted its own investigation, first reported by the Raleigh News and Observer. The school found that more than half the classes in the AFAM dept. either rarely met or not at all and that a majority of its enrollments were basketball or football players. _
Let's believe the woman that started the investigation, that the University itself has partially confirmed, that the University then blackballed, thae woman who had NO agenda against Roy Williams or the University. And then was confirmed by the liar. The straight A student, the Dean's List student at such a prestigious University. _
Honest question. Is he lying about his transcripts? The straight A's and the Dean's list? That two other independent sources have gotten copies of--2 different copies? _
the woman who has been debunked already. yep, believe her. when this investigation is over we will know much more.

Rather you choose not to believe. He produced his unofficial transcripts and two independent sources got copies of his transcripts yet...you don't know? _

This is a message board, not a courtroom. Nobody has proof of anything. It's like you trotting out quotes from former players bashing McCants and defending their alma mater and coach- guys with a vested interest in sweeping this under the rug. That proves even less. That's no stats and no context. _
if the evidence is there I will be disappointed and admit the truth but I am not just going to accept it w/o evidence. They get the benefit of the doubt w/ me now b/c there has never been a hint of wrongdoing there in all the years I have followed them.
