Off season optimism is a wonderful thing.

Ducasse looked as bad in pass pro as any o-lineman I have
Seen at the pro level in 25 yrs. He absolutely fucken sucks
And he's a dumb fuck. Put him in front of a window and he'll be
Licking all day. Hunter is a step above him....so he sucks by
    Default.

Anyone gushing over these guys is full of shit.

  6. I think Ducasse has shown alot of good skills including in pass protection. I don't think I'm full of shit at all.

VD backed up the worst starter on the team and could hardly get on the field. I don't get the optimism for him.

The optimism for him is a byproduct of the 2009 and 2010 runs. The FO gets a strong benefit of the doubt on it's moves as a result of that. If 2012 is a lost season then you'll see the switch flip to negative and all the nagging issues on the team will suddenly look critical to most people.

I'm willing to cut Ducasse a little slack. This will be his first full offseason with the Jets and there's a lot to be said for having a full offseason. However, this is a make it or break it year for Ducasse. I personally think he can beat out Hunter for the starting RT position, and I think that the FO feels the same way otherwise they would have gone out and got a replacement for Hunter.

Even the homers here have to acknowledge that the FO missed bigtime on the Gholston pick. We should be so sure VD is not a failed pick?

I'm not even that impressed by Wilson, yet. McKnight? Meh.

Kerley shows a lot of promise, and Wilkerson goes down so far as a solid if unspectacular pick. But at best it's been a mixed bag the last few years.

    At best.

Nope, no reason for leaving on those rose colored glasses.

Didn't VD have an off season before 2010?

I wonder how high the coaching staff actually is on Schlauderaff.. we've heard Tanny talk him up a few times earlier this offseason.

Saying you're sure VD isn't a failed pick is about as stupid as saying you're sure he IS at this point. The needle is pointing the wrong way, but he's not a waste yet. He is a low salary project pick with a huge upside that was known to need time to get up to speed in the NFL when he was picked.

So far VD has sucked hoping he makes huge strides this year. The o-line should be better this year because they should be healthy. We are an injury a way from disaster again.

A bigger question is RB Green has shown flashes but has not shown he can last a whole year. Mcknight needs to step up big this year. He has shown he has big play potential but he is prone to fumble and has trouble staying healthy.

If you ask me we have much bigger question marks at RB. Can we line Tebow up as a Csonka like Full Back that may solve the Jets running game problems.

Agree. And personally, If he dosent pan out this year I am not opposed to having a solid, mauling run blocking backup on the same team for a few more years. His familiarity with linemates could add some nice depth IF he is not an NFL starter. Lets see how well he preformes this pre-season before we anoint him a bust. He was picked as a project; in my opnion a round or two too early for that type of pick, but it's water unter the bridge at this point.

You misread my post. There is nothing wrong with saying I am not sure he is a failed pick.
