(1)My wife (who is from Arkansas) has convinced me that we need a Razorback on the team. Draft McFadden.
(2)And give up on the 3/4, it just ain't working for us.

You mean we'd have lost to the Dolphins with Coleman and Barrett at CB?

What kind of argument is that? The only team we've beat that has any kind of receiving corps is the Steelers and if you want to know why we lost to them go to one of the Steelers boards and ask them.

My B-in-law is a lifelong Steelers fan and he says he's never seen them play back to back games where they were as bad offensively as they were against the Jets and the Dolphins. Who is the shutdown CB on Miami that helped hold them to THREE points?

Revis has made no significant impact on the Jets W-L record this season. An offensive lineman at LG would have helped them win one or two of the miserable offensive showings they've had this season.

    Wow...this logic really is stunning....

    We are REEEEEEEEEEBBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUIIIIIIIIILDDDDDDDDING.

We did not draft Revis and sign him to a one year contract. The fact is is that he is a young corner who has done a great job for us, and has been one of our 2 best defensive players (along with the other rookie from our crap draft) this year. He is a huge part of the future.

Why would we not draft BPA? Why are you sticking on the OL so hard when 1. we shouldn't have THREE first rounders on the OL when great OLs have been built much more cheap than that 2. Revis > G 3. Who drafts for need? That usually leads to bad drafting. 4. You're going to find yourself mighty lonely on this....2 of the best players in the draft and you're whining about a G? Seriously? What, Mangini only had 2 offseasons to build a Super Bowl winner or it's off with his head? You're actually bashing the guy for drafting our best two defensive players because you wanted a G?

It's obvious this team needed more than two players. That was a given on draft day. But when you walk out of the draft with two guys who could legitimately be talked about as DROY as your first two pick....why would you complain? Cause they didn't give us wins NOW? What, they're going to hurt our 2008 season? 2009?

And again...Staley - LT of the future, Sears - very good G, Grubbs - backing up a broken down O-line....Ugoh - LT and playing much better than originally thought (coaching)...Revis - a top 10 corner in his rookie season...and Harris - our new leader on D and our best player in the front 7....yea...true those kind of guys aren't key cogs....you should always draft for your immediate needs because that always works....

Were the Browns stupid for taking Edwards and Winslow when they should have been taking O-line? Why would you not take elite talent when you get it?

Bringing up the team that hasn't done anything until this year, hasn't done anything special this year and is most likely to step back next season isn't going to win you this argument.

Neither is you taking the stance that we should have went G over two of the best defensive players in the draft isn't going to win this argument either.

    Not only that:

The Browns offense is 6th in the league in points.

Winslow and Edwards have combined for 2340 yards.

The Browns have 3418 passing yards total.

Winslow and Edwards have combined for 18 TDs, the Browns have 26 passing TDs.

I'm a big believer in building the trenches, but you're showing no real concept of NFL drafting strategy. You get elite talent where you see it. Everyone knows you have to build an offensive line, but you're not going to pick a guard in the first or early second (where Sears, Ugoh, Blalock, Staley went) over the elite LBer or CB prospect. At the end of the day, the talent has to be everywhere.

BTW: You completely missed the point of the Browns example. The Browns are far from an elite team, but they are an elite offense in part because they have elite talent everywhere...not just the O-line. The Jets are not unlike the Browns the past few years...building talent up until it blows up.

Harris and Revis really seem to be killing us today....as usual....

You're arguing 2007 here. I thought the Jets were overrated coming into the season and people needed the patience to watch the team take its lumps this year. Revis and Harris aren't for 2007, they're greatest value is down the road. The fact that they are two of our top 5 players should be enough to quit whining about going for need in the draft.

    Revis >>>>> Grubbs and Staley

    Harris >>>>> Sears, Ugoh, Blalock

    BPA >>>>> Need

It's a wish list, not a crystal ball prediction.

If half of those moves happen, our team looks alot better. If we have the third or fourth overall pick and trade down, most of those players are obtainable. The free agency is aggressive but I would rather jave guys like Bell and Dansby than some of our current "stars".

I hope for a good draft and that God adds 32 hours to the end of my life to make up for the time I spent aggravated watching the games this year.
