Again, DMC on the field is a Mangini guy, off the field, he is not.. So he can't be considered the biggest Mangini guy in the top 6.

Gholston, according to draft "gurus" doesn't have the heart for football. Wouldn't be a Mangini guy by those standards.... Although some say Curtis Martin didn't love football.

I don't see the racism.. Show me it.

Current NFL players that have been labeled Mangini guys by the fans:
    Coles
    Cotchery
    Harris
    Mangold
    Revis
    Rhodes
    Vilma

Is this racist because I only named one white athlete?

And Glenn Dorsey doesn't? Being a Mangini type of player signifies that you love football, you're hardworking and you're unselfish. What makes Long better than Dorsey in all those categories? Why do people jump to Long?

And I'm not saying black players can't be Mangini guys but when it comes down to choosing one, out of the six, Both Longs and Ryan will get named more than Dorsey and Gholston or even Ellis for that matter.

The main reason is that after dealing with the D-slob saga for the past year, the last thing Jet fans even want to consider is another undersized DT with a knee problem (yeah, it's that simple).

Dorsey doesnt fit our system. If we ran a 4-3, or if he played in a 3-4 in college. He would be a fantastic pick.

And like I said before.. Injury scare.

    Edit:
And same with Ellis. He's a warrior, in a 4-3.

That doesn't make him a non Mangini player though. Being a Mangini player is different than what system you should play in. And McFadden has all three down (hardworking, unselfish, and loves football). At least that's what I remember being a Mangini player meant.

Chris Long is White and Versitile which means he can play multiple positions, he is known for his motor and his character is outstanding. Dorsey is black and is fine but doesn't have as much to bring to the table as far as falling into the Mangini mold.

    You're forgetting Character.

Which is the only thing that keeps DMC from being labeled a "Mangini guy."
BTW, is it racist that i refer to Mcfadden as Run DMC, since they were a black hip hop group?

Calling us racist because Chris Long knows how to use a condom is crazy.

No, I think that's actually pretty clever.

Carry on then. I'll go with Dorsey as most Mangini :).

In the case of Tom Brady, we're not trying to predict his future behavior the way people are with a YOUNG guy still in college, that up until now has at least 2 paternity cases pending to go along with some bar fights. I think most rational people agree that Tom Brady's body of work on the field and his off-field life have been pretty good for his organization.

(Tom Brady's paternity issues x Randy Moss' cancerous behavior) + Bill Bellichick = NON-EXISTANT

Any sort of character issues can be changed; it all depends on the coaching staff's willingness to help correct them.

IMO, any of these top guys are good enough for this team in terms of character, even Darren McFadden. Character shouldn't play a role for our 6th pick when talking about those aforementioned guys.

Dorsey is not suited for Mangini's Defense... Long is.

Long can play both at LB and put his hands down and Mangini likes versatile players... Dorsey cannot.

Both of them are very strong motors...

Long doesn't have injury concerns... Dorsey does (don't tell me that doesn't factor in to becoming a mangini guy)

Let talk football man quit trying to create controversy with absolutely no evidence.. real dumb thing to bring up

wtf exactly makes a mangini guy? really though have we gotten something from mangini that tells us what a mangini guy is? or are we just making things up to make them up and put a label on them?

and please dont judge a mans character until you have walked a day in his shoes, fact is that dmc probably lived a much different life than many on here.

its easy to sit on your computer and say how he is this and that whilst someone could probably do the same damn thing about alot of things alot of you do in your lives.

    Lol.

Where did the idea that Mangini only likes white guys thinking come from?

His first draft pick was black, 3 of his 4 first rounders are black, he called Cotchery "exactly the kind of player the NY Jets are looking for"....

Mangini guys being white seems to be more of a fan issue...it's like reason #1 people on JI used to say they'd pick Chris Long over Gholston.
