THANK YOU!!!! That's how I said to address the Line problem, FA + Later Rounds! Who says these guys will be here after 4 years??? Um...McKenzie...Thomas... There is a reason you Don't use a 4th on a Lineman ...
I think 9:lol: Anyways I am psyched about this, having a great o-line will lead us far. Great draft day IMO, :breakdance:
Well you can also lose a runningback through free agency with the #4 pick. You wont win any Superbowl's without a good o-line.
That's what Gets me. I'm not disagreeing with Building the O-line. I have preached for years that the O-line is key to everything! My point is just HOW you build your line. You Don't use a 4th.
I find it ironic that Pete Kendall and Trey Teague are mentioned in a thread stating we are set for life.
Pace and Walter Jones stayed with their teams didn't they? We lost K-Mac because Bradway was stupid. That won't happen again. D'Brick is a character guy anyway, and he wants to be a Jet. We'll make sure to give him something reasonable, and Mangold too, and we should be set. Kendall is staying a Jet himself, when he had the chance to walk. I still have my doubts on the right side, but usually the left is considered more important. I'd feel better with a good RT though.
The problem is that we have tried that. We've taken Marko Cavka, and Adrian Jones in the 4th and 5th I believe. We have Jonathan Goodwin, and have taken other players. Only Adrian Jones has proved to be someone decent. I am against the Ferguson selection because I don't think he will amount to the Pace and Ogden comparison's he gets. But I disagree with the fact that you don't think we should be taking offensive lineman early. It's a luxury to be able to build a line from the scrap heap.
the thing that scares me is that about 4 years ago we had one of the best o lines in the league. then the f.o. just pissed it all away by letting people leave via free agency. i hope history does not repeat itself here...
Yes We did try it and It has Worked!! FA= Fabini, Kendall, Mawae Picks= McKenzie, Thomas, Jones, Moore.
Here's another thing!! Stop saying your line is now great!! (OK, I have to admit, I think you chose great players, but I digress...) There have been PLENTY of busts for lineman. Just recently that hyped dope for Buffalo Mike Williams. He was a huge monster too, but he turned to be, what's that word... oh yeah.. TERRIBLE!!! My Pats picks included, you need to wait and see how they perform before you start saying you 'set' in any area. Nothing is guaranteed!!!!
