Take a look at the picture. If he had ran him over he would have been out of the basepath, at least that's how it looks to me.
this the same guy who tried to play innocent after swiping the ball away from the first baseman in the ALCS. his reaction hardly exhibits his actual intentions or actions.
It looks like to me he would have ben w/in the baseline and I remember from the video it looked like that as well but I haven't seen the video in a while so I could be wrong.
No he wouldn't and I'm not so sure that's a great thing either. Just like he refuses to ever get involved in any on field altercation or even defend himself when he's continuously hit by pitches. Maybe there's another word for that.
Come on man. That's his personality. I see where you're trying to go with that post, and I don't think Jeter is a pussy at all. He just realizes that he gets his revenge on the opposition with his bat, rather than his mouth or fists.
Honestly, I don't really remember the play enough to know for sure. All I remember is Arod slapping the ball, not where people were. From the picture it looks like Arroyo is out of the basepath, but I have no idea at what point in the play that is. I do know that as a pitcher, I was always taught to tag the runner with two hands, but standing out of the basepath, if at all possible.
