    UGH!!!

Try eating something sweet to get that Mets sour taste out of your mouth.... It's a long way until pitchers and catchers report

Relax, Shade is just still bitter that the last young ace the Mets had was gift-wrapped for Tampa Bay

I hope there is at least some truth to this rumor and that the Yankees are trying to shop him...

    I doubt he goes anywhere.

First off, he provides significant revenue from Japanese viewership. Second, as a lefty hitter, not playing the field, he's a good asset in Yankee Stadium. He only becomes a liability when he puts on his glove.

With the full no-trade clause, it's even harder to move him. Unless the Yankees literally insulted him to the point of shame, he has no reason to leave. He's a hero back home, and that would be diminished if he left the Yankees. Insulting him would only be a poor move by the Yanks, since it would affect future opportunities.

He'll be in pinstripes next year, which is fine, as long as he isn't in left field.

    Classy.

For someone who is always talking about other people making racist comments, you sure make some pretty shitty ones yourself.

And here I was thinking you actually turned a corner with your posting. Alas, the sun still rises in the East.

If they end up moving Cabrera he will be in left field and Damon will be back in center.

Which would make us a worse team than last year.

    Thanks, but no thanks.

A lefty DH, with power, in Yankee Stadium, and you hate him? Are you crazy?

Exactly... and I know I'm probably in the minority on this one but I think Melky is just as valuable as Hughes since he's shown he can be our everyday CF for at least a decade

He does hit into way too many DP's for my liking as well but he's made up for it with some clutch hits including in the playoffs

I wouldn't say he's as valuable as Hughes, since if both hit their maximum potential, Hughes is a future HoF, and Melky gets a couple trips to the All-Star game, at best.

But I do agree with your overall point. Melky is a key to our team. Not only because he D blows away anyone else we have for the outfield, but also his energy.

That's the thing with him. He's a contact hitter who also happens to be strong. Like a slow, more powerful Ichiro. That's naturally going to result in outs quite often. But given that he's a lefty, and he's a more clutch hitter than Giambi, he's worth keeping around. (And as I've already mentioned, the t.v. income is too much to pass up. The Yankees may have no problem spending like crazy, but the money has to be there to spend too.)

Besides, who the hell does San Fran have that we'd want anyway?

oh come on... all Matsui does is dribble the ball to the second baseman 9 times out of 10.

And as to who SF has that we may want, Cain or Lincecum. But they would both take Matsui + prospect
