Gave up huge junks of yardage easy due to the prevent in many games. You remember the first game of the year, where that Chad Pennington guy moved the O over the field easily to get a last shot at the Endzone? Or that looser, who didn´t start a game since HS and couldn´t do shit for 2 quaters but then racked up what 300 yards against us in the 2nd half? I also listed some other things that play into it earlier. And I actually don´t think the Passrush is that bad, I just think it´s used the wrong way. Our blitzes are predictable, wich makes it easy for QBs to find their hot reads.
Who are you kidding. You would bitch and moan even if we were 12-0. Some people just aren't happy unless they're negative about something. With you and some others on this site, unfortunately, that something is the Jets.
Does anyone know if Javier Arenas is entering the draft this year, and if so, what's his projection? I wouldn't be opposed to getting him at the end of Round 1. He reminds me a little bit of Revis, just without the overall talent and "shutdown" ability. He's heady and sees the field exceptionally well.
Yea that was kind of the point of my comment. Nobody should be suprised that the pass rank has dropped...more that it's dropped as much as it has.
I have thought for a while that the Jets have a defense that is similar to a twinkie in that it has a creamy center. That creamy center for the Jets is the LBs in coverage. This last Sunday Gannon pointed out how one of the LBs in coverage (I think it was Barton) was running with Daniel Graham in man coverage on a 10 yard in and just stopped at the hash mark. He essentially gave a third of the field up. Cutler rifled the ball in their, Graham turned up-field, and yet another chunk of yardage was gained. The pass to Sheffler that brought the Broncos to the 1 also shows that the LBs can't cover. You have Rhodes playing center field and two receivers coming deep (I think the other was Marshall. Rhodes held his own in the middle (exactly what he should have done) but the LBs did not get deep enough and Sheffler was wide open in front of Rhodes. The Jets defense is good at many things. LB coverage is not one of them.
