When I am the voice of reason, there is a real problem...... The New York Rangers, a team that failed to make the playoffs last in the toughest revised division in hockey are sitting firmly in 6th place in the Eastern Conference and third in their division. Their record is 18-7-1. Of their 7 regulation losses, SIX of them are against playoff teams. Let's relax a little here?
Wouldn't that tend to suggest that they're beating up on the weaker teams (which is admittedly what you need to do over a long season) but struggling against the better ones? I'm all for optimism, but "playoff teams" are the ones you ultimately need to beat. You know, in the playoffs.
Perspective on the recent games: the Rangers were coming off a long streak of success, Igor was hurt but Georgiev played very well, we still won as many as we lost. That said it would be nice to get Shesty back and know that the backup is still good enough as long as we score a few goals.
