The Penguins are on fire and have won 3 straight against the Rangers. Plus they have home ice, so I am taking them in 7. However, I have to believe the Rangers will step up their game this week. They just have to right? Steal a game or 2 in Pittsburgh and it all shifts. In fact, I think Game 1 in this series means more than any Round 1 series. If Rangers win, they shift everything to their favor. If they play a tough game and lose, still confident in the series. If they get blown out: could be a quick series. Lundqvist will show up. I just hope the rest of the team does.
not worried about the Penguins, Rangers win this in 6 tops. I'm more concerned with Washington in round 2, that's going to be one hell of a challenge but the Rangers always seem to find a way
Playoffs are a different animal, momentum goes out the window, we have Hank, they don't, I'm very confident we will beat them again in 6
This team has been so inconsistent which is a bit worrisome, but Staal says their "not scared of anybody.” So bring on the Penguins!
Here's a little diddy I just wrote: Oh, Canada You have no playoff teams watch USA pursue Stanley Cup Dreams! When your teams all fold And your rinks are old And your stars forget to play Then you look on south And open your mouth There's great teams on the way! God keep your fans Furious and peed Oh Canada you have no playoff teams Oh Canada you have no playoff teams!
A lot of confidence from Rangers fans even though our defense has been shit, McDonagh won't be playing, and Girardi is probably still messed up.
Top shelf offense, top shelf goaltending, playoff battle tested, huge chip on their shoulder - that's enough right there to beat the Penguins who will have no goaltending and bad chemistry with Malkin back who hopefully isn't 100%. Yes the defense is horsehit, but hopefully AV sees the light and gives McIlrath serious minutes and they go balls out. Rangers (and Lundqvist) are proven playoff winners
Rangers Report @rangersreport Apr 11 Lundqvist last 8 playoff games vs. PIT: 7-1, 1.34, .954 including 4-0 0.99, .965 (111 saves on 115 shots) last 4 on road.
That's why I feel tomorrow's Game 1 is so crucial. The current trend is Pens are dominating the league and the Rangers have been pretty inconsistent. If the Rangers show up and win Game 1 on the road, that current trend is thrown out the door and Pens look at stats like you just posted, then hit the PANIC button.
