Watch every PP we have he loses the initial faceoff and the puck gets cleared down the ice, that kills the 1st 30 seconds of each PP

It's been a long, LONG time since a regular season loss has pissed me off as much as this one did. As soon as Stepan took the ice for that draw, I KNEW what was going to happen. FYI - Derek Stepan has less goals in the first five years of his career than Sergei Nemchinov, who by the way, also played one strike-shortened season.
This once again highlights a very big problem this team has: Our FIRST LINE center has a 44% career face-off percentage. I'm sure it doesn't help our already anemic powerplay. Either you put the first line on the ice to lose the opening draw, thus killing 30 seconds of the powerplay right off the bat, OR you put you second line on the ice, which may win the draw, but has lower quality players on it.
Derek Stepan - currently tied for 44th among NHL CENTERS in goals scored: http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?rep...meType=2&sort=goals,assists&aggregate=0&pos=C His 46.4 FO% puts him 7th on the Rangers out of all 8 players who have taken a single faceoff this year: http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?rep...ort=faceoffWinPctg&aggregate=0&teamId=3&pos=C
Pat Leonard is the same IDIOT who posted an article the same day oozing about how the Rangers success this season is because Derek Stepan is healthy. What a moron. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/h...-derek-stepan-healthy-shows-article-1.2554934
More good coaching, from today's practice... Andrew Gross@AGrossRecord Miller skating with Moore and Glass on the fourth line.
This is AV's way of humbling him, yet boosting his confidence. What a joke. Maybe Nash comes back surging. They sure need it.
FullTilt Rangers @NYR_FullTilt 49m49 minutes ago Just like it is ok to want more out of players, it's ok to want more out of your coach too.
Blueshirt Bulletin @NYRBlueBulletin Mar 6 Eric Staal won 20 of 22 faceoffs And he had a birds eye view of Stepan being beat clean on the most important faceoff of the season
