I have a nice little reprieve from the family tonight...gotta go to AC for a "work" thing so Ill be at the Borgata watching tonight.....need to gamble away my Jet blues
it really is a ground-breaking photo...Ive never actually seen a defenseman pinch and get caught before. Perhaps we have a pulitzr prize-winner in the making with that pic?
Realistically McD and Cally are shoe-ins, but Stepan might get a look as a depth center for the US team. Nice representation for the Rangers.
Rare good article from ESPN discussing the current status of the team USA Roster: http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/10010820/nhl-sochi-hockey-power-rankings
Think the team is playing some of its best hockey in a long time. Its really fun to watch too. Great to see guys with talent showing...they are guys with talent. Very much looking forward to another win tonight...thats how positive I feel about them now.
well..I jinxed them so far. Ok..here is something for debate..and Im sure I will get destroyed on this one...but am I all by myself in saying that the KING is the most overrated goalie in the last decade? Every time you have the KING go on one of HIS incredible save runs..its like no other goalie in the NHL has ever done the same thing. When we get down early like tonight and the KING makes a some saves...then we come back..all we hear about is how he kept us in the game. I know he has had a few years of great stats...but I can think of several playoff games when we needed him to play like a real KING and he didnt. No need to fight on this one...Im very open..just wondering if Im by myself with not wanting to empty wallet for one goalie...even if he is a KING.
Jay, I respect your opinion as always, all I can is we'll miss him when he's gone, he's the best player on the team, and has been the best player since he got here, he is struggling this year but still has a lot of years left in a probable hall of fame career...
Im tough on him..MR...i know that. The old hockey saying has always been with a hot goaltender, you can go very far. I always expect him to be unstoppable in the playoffs and he has never lived up to my expectations of a great goalie. Again..its me...and I expect a lot from a goalie that is labeled as one of the best. He is also a product of not the greatest around him...like I said in the post, I know its not popular but the laying of eggs in several playoff games sticks in my mind more than it probably should.
The one thing about Lundqvist is this: When he is at his best, he is the greatest Rangers goalie I have ever seen. Yes, that includes Mike Richter.
