It amuses me that to you guys Del Zotto appears to be either the worst player to ever pull on the blue shirt, or the second coming of Bobby Orr. Is it not conceivable that he's a talented young player with plenty of upside, but also some faults related to his lack of age and experience?

Plays better when he is physical and joins the rush, Torts won't let him join the rush

I like MDZ, he has mental lapses...Alot from his intention on being aggressive on the offense.

He shouldnt be going out there playing like hes Kris Letang. Just be good at your game at this point. He takes alot of chances which screws us

c'mon now JE, you've been in this thread long enough......most reasonable fans here feel exactly as you've stated, a young talented player with upside that is still learning. It seems like he's been around forever, thus unreasonable expectations.

there's only a few haters out there, and they base their hate on the fact that they "think" people are saying he's the next Brian Leetch, or that he he hits the post a lot....no reasonable fans think this.

He's uneven, inconsistent.........that will change as he matures. Whether The Rangers will need him or not is a legit question with the addition of a similar player in Moore. A big mean dude with a heavy shot would be nice ; )

did i say that? don't put other people's words in my mouth ; ). I disagree with the constant complaining about how Tortorella has ruined the guy and that nonsense.....and he is some sort of line up saver and must be playing because he scored 5 goals last year.

Kreider is playing well in this series, deserves a little more ice time, and has taken advantage of the injury situation. No way Torts is taking him out of the line up now. I've never once complained about Hagelin...but he can certainly improve too.

Kreids does deserve to play more, but I like that 4th line...Hags has to learn how to finish

yes it much easier said than done of course, but Hags needs to work on the ol' break away, he gets quite a few, and rarely finishes them. Shut me up Hags and bury one tonight!

not sure how i feel about tonight yet, but will definitely be at a bar watching.....the more background noise to drown out these broadcasters the better.

Get the D pairings from the last series back in tact......and play 60 freaking minutes and i think they have a decent shot of making it a series.

and my old bugaboo...Hank cannot be outplayed by Rask, screens, no screens whatever. We lose that battle, we lose everytime.

I doubt I can do it without being a prick but Ill try.

Firstly, I never ranked the "problems".

Secondly, ALL of my MDZ comments since this thing started a month ago or whenever, was simply in response to you and MR calling him Del Zaster. That little moniker is foolish and over blown. If you recall, thats when this WHOLE thing started.

And if you also remember, I said he is 22 years old and has a TON of potential. Which I still stand by. Hes our best D-man on the PP ( though we know thats not saying much), he is by far the best as far as making the first pass out of our zone from a Dman, not even close.

He is also pretty physical considering hes not the biggest guy out there and he plays with an edge. Thats all Ive ever said about MDZ.

HAGS---He simply isnt productive. You and MR wonder at him racing up and down the ice but for his minutes, he simply is not productive as he should be. AND, hes never going to be. Why? Because he is not a natural goal scorer- he cant finish. Its PAINFULLY obvious. PAINFULLY!

Kreider, oh sorry, KREIDS ( theres the prick)----Again, never called him a problem. I have simply defended Torts' handling of him this year because the kid is not ready for the NHL. He has proven to be a defensive liability at this point. Torts expects better from all of his forwards, its that simple.

As a matter of fact, I have said repeatedly, contrary to what you, MR and a couple oithers think, that in no way, shape or form has this season " ruined" or "stunted" his career. You guys think that. And its beyond ridiculous. Very, very few players come up to the NHL their first time and never go back down.

He clearly needs a full camp, he clearly needs to understand his defensive responsibilities better AND he also needs to be more consistent offensively as well.

Does MDZ make mistakes? Yup. Does Girardi? Yup. McD...yup, you get the picture. But he's 22 and he is getting better and his potential is very, very high. And if you asked 32 GMs around the league, they would tell you the same exact thing.

There ya go. The best I can do without insulting anyone.
