I agree, when he told the media he learned the entire playbook - fans started going crazy. I don't care too much about the yards, but his presence in the RZ is crucial to our success. I say he grabs at least 5 or 6 TDs
He is a huge RZ target for sure which will be a big help. I think a big part of the excitement around him is that we rarely take offensive positions in the earlier rounds. People were gushing over Stephen Hill too. I like Amaro and he obviously runs better routes than Hill and has great hands but I dont expect him to be a big contributor. I think Cumberland will have more yards/receptions which isnt necessarily a bad thing. The 2 can compliment eachother.
Well, I agree that there's excitement around him because he's a rare early-round offensive pick, but I don't think he has a ton in common with Hill. Hill was always a bit of a project / reach. If Al Davis had been alive during the 2012 draft, Stephen Hill would be a Raider right now, he was always eager to take super-fast players with questionable skills. Hill was basically one of those "track star" wideouts, with crazy speed but high school level skills. It never seems to work out at the NFL level. Amaro has a much smaller jump to make, skill-wise. He was an "elite" pass catching hybrid TE in college, and should thrive in that role at the NFL level. He'll have a much easier time getting up to NFL level skills than Hill, because he's starting off much closer to that skill level.
