No more interceptions that is all we need at the moment. Play the game with as little dumb plays as possible. No butt-fumble part 2
Surely I would think they drafted him with visions of him replacing Mark (whether or not it was Week 1 or later in the season/next year is another question to raise). We are getting our first look at him Week 1. Let him ride this out; support him and have him as comfortable as he can be. Don't rush Sanchez back.
He can turn the ball over..he can't do it three or four times a game like Sanchez has though. He will also need to improve from week to week unless he starts out great to begin with. Remember this is what the front office wants, for him to do well. He has some built in slack to play with.
Was really pulling for sanchez but the injury might have ruined his career. Anyway, time to start rooti g for this geno kid to get it going and win us some games Hopefully his football instincts are great enough to make some big plays out there. The teams really gonna need to come together this season
No if they drafted him with visions of him replacing Mark, he would have gotten drafted with the 9th or 13th overall pick. He was drafted because he was the BPA at the time they picked in the 2nd round. People really need to stop acting as if Geno was a top 5 pick that the Jets invested so much in. Once Sanchez is healthy, Geno will not have as long a leash as many believe or wish. Rex is coaching for his life, if he feels Sanchez gives him the best chance to win, you best believe he will not hesitate to pull Geno if he has to.
I think the biggest fallacy some Jet fans have bought into is that all the "experts" had Geno at one time as the number 1 pick or a top 10 pick. Real NFL GMs clearly did not. He did not "fall" to the second round--he was drafted exactly where he should have been. He was a gift at 39, but he was not ever a top 10 talent. _
