Mehta's drop off in reporting started early last season. I'm not sure why he went the Cimini routte cause he was putting out some seriously good articles when Dickhead Cimini left for ESPN. I am guessing Minish wants to work for ESPN now also. I started following Jeff Capellini (@greenlanternjet). He's been pretty down the middle with his articles. He's a fan of the Jets but isn't afraid to criticize when they need to. I like his level headed approach.
Completely agree. Costello of the Post does the same thing. It's completely irritating I have to click another link to read the rest of his tweets. Glad it's not just me.
That sulia stuff Manish has on his twitter is just too annoying. I happen to like Manish and I think Brian Coz of the Post is ok, but Jane (or Jenny?) Vrentas is the best one. One of the Jets sites just put out a beat writer power rankings which I thought was pretty clever.. I think it was TurnOnTheJets. I'd link to it but with my 4 posts I don't think I'm able to lol. I find the non-mainstream guys on twitter are better than the same old stuff type beat writers like Cimini though.
Fact is..... WE GET THE INFO anyway... I 'll never click on that BS that is just repeating what the other 17 people covering the team write. Half the time these guys are taking quotes from a press conference that we can all watch and lsisten to and just adding their snide remarks and innuendos... We can do that ourseleves... IMO, these beat writers are losing their relevance and they combat it with Clicks, over the top spin, Annonymous sources and Mike Florio style "reporting"
I do not follow anyone on twitter but I create lists on Twitter. There is a good program called Tweetdeck that works on your phone and your computer. It constantly refreshes to get whoever tweets on your list. This is who is on my list. JetsTwit @jetstwit , @Wesley_Sykes , Erik Manassy™ @e_man , Kristian Dyer @KristianRDyer , Kimberley A. Martin @KMart_LI , Kristine Reese @kristinereese , nyjetscap @nyjetscap , Chris Nimbley @Cnimbley , New York Jets @JetsGab , Bob Glauber @BobGlauber , Joe Caporoso @TurnOnTheJets , JetNation.com @JetNation , Jenny Vrentas @JennyVrentas , New York Jets @nyjets , Jeane Coakley @JeaneCoakley , Dennis Waszak Jr. @DWAZ73 , Tyson Rauch @TRauch21, Brian Bassett @Brian_Bassett , Bob Wischusen @espnbob , JetsInsider.com @JetsInsider , Lisa Zimmerman @LisaZimmerman Have fun I left off Manish and Brian Costello because they use sulia and Cimini because he is just obnoxious Also found an app that is called 'Jets News' not bad so far
^^ Thats a pretty excellent list of Twitter follows, I must say. I follow most of them and will check out the ones I'm unfamiliar with.
Yeah that's where they had the Beat Writer Power Rankings, which I found pretty good. When it comes to Jets stuff there are like 50 "beat" writers who all post the same info, so you really only need to follow 2 or 3 on Twitter and get all the basic info coming out of practice and camp and what not. What I look for is fresh takes on stuff, good writing, things that entertain instead of just being the same old stuff all the other guys are writing/tweeting. /my $0.02 haha
