Because it doesn't matter if we win or not, and Greene is looking strong. LT has seriously been in a drought, and he needs a good showing. It's not that he's been terrible, but our rotation has been ill timed, and not in his favor. It would be nice to give the guy 15-20 carries.
Does anyone remember what happened to Welker on the last week of the regular season last year? That is exactly why you don't play any starters. You cannot afford to risk any injuries. We already have a lot, and an injury to a player like Sanchez,Mangold,Harris or Revis would make it nearly impossible to win a playoff game. It is very unlikely that we will get the 5th seed, so I don't see why we should risk anything. Besides, we can beat the Bills with a 40 year old QB.
Start the starters on O until they score a TD. LT needs about 80 yards for 1000, so maybe let him go for that. Everyone starts on D until we work out what we're doing there.
Agreed. I'm not big on personal accomplishments. Although, I think for LT at this point in his career that would be huge, and it might give him some extra confidence going into the playoffs. He needs 86 to be exact.
If Sanchez does not play, there will be plenty of carries to go around. The Jets could definitely have over 40 rushing attempts with Joe McKnight maybe getting a dozen or so.
Absolutely. I mentioned that in my first post. It would be nice to see Connor get some inside handoffs as well, since I doubt Richardson will be back next season.
In my mind I would give LT the week off. Give him a rest. He's one at this stage that really needs a rest. There is no reason to play him in my opinion. Is getting him substantial carries this coming week going to make him fresher for the playoffs? I wouldn't think so.
If we don't care about seeding I'd much rather see LT rest than try and reach the 1000 yard mark. I don't think he even gives a shit about that. He's an old RB - give him a week off before playoffs.
Running back is the one position where if u sit, it can hurt more than help. Granted, resting an injury is different. But, when your a healthy back, you need to keep those legs going. Look at LT's prior playoff resume. He's always rested prior to the playoffs, and he's usually shit the bed come playoff time. Let the old horse go!
I want the easiest path to the Superbowl, so point blank, no, I don't want to see the Pats in the playoffs.
I agree with all but Ducasse. He is not ready and will get someone hurt. Conner & McKnight and Cumberland., Wilson, Cole and Marcys Dixon. Sit Killer-Keller!
thought the shoulder looked fine today myself. play him. he can sit when a real team beats us in the playoffs.
Resting players in Wk 17 Not that losing is good... it stinks... but now there won't be any doubts about resting some of the banged up players vs the Bills. Rex himself said that they were looking to solidify their playoff status to hopefully rest some guys... didn't happen in the way he wanted but I'm expecting Sanchez, Revis, Pace, Holmes, Ellis, Pouha etc to rest.
I'd like to see Kroul and Gilbert play a lot against Buffalo. The defensive line needs some rest. I see no reason to rest anyone on offense besides Tomlinson.
