    It used to be GUARD. The league officially changed the name of the position to GORD last month. It's a tribute to former league great Frank Gord. You may remember him as the left guard of the 1936-1946 Chicago Bears. A wonderful football player and man of impeccable character, Gord devoted many a fine day to the development of the National Football League.
