Rivers would bring us to legitimacy, he's elite and would help us challenge the Patriots for AFC East supremacy

He is not elite but he will be above average for sure. With a good defense, he can help us be Play off regular for a few years.

Rivers wont happen. we will be lucky if we get Norv Turner, with Andy Reid being interested in coaching the Chargers you can almost guarantee Norv has already started looking at new homes. just have to hope we get to him first and lock some kind of deal... if FO is smart enough.

Always felt he's better than Eli and Big Ben but never had the help on defense they got, he'd get that with us

    Thats it.

And Defense can use someone like Rivers to be called Elite again.

We are not really that bad.

Shitchez is just f..ing the entire organization with his inept.

yeah with Sanchez he needs a strong run game and more weapons than usual but I think Rivers would be fine with Holmes/Edwards/Kerley/Hill/Keller and Powell plus whoever at RB would benefit from not facing 8 in the box, Mangold and Ferguson will return to elite levels, Ducasse stepping in should be fine add in another mauler at Guard and Howard who's average but serviceable and we're a whole new team

but this is too good to be true however swapping contracts would be great for SD and maybe that is something they'd consider

The Jets need a good -> very good QB a lot more than they need a great CB. If the Jets could make that trade it would be a no brainer. The Chargers probably aren't that stupid though.

I'm neutral about trading Revis, but Rivers would totally jump start this organization and the offense. I would actually trade Revis if that's what it would take to get Rivers. Revis is elite at his position, unfortunately his position just isn't as important as it once was.

why do you say that, do you not understand keeping our elite secondary plus the stout line and adding some edge rushers will put us in 2000 Ravens, 85 Bears category

Revis and Cromartie shutting down the outside

Wilson and Berry handling the slot

Landry reeking havoc across the middle

Add a Cover safety keeping the top on our D

    Wilkerson/Pouha/Ellis/Coples stuffing the run

Harris and Davis on the inside

    and 2 edge rushers

I'm not giving that up as we can get Rivers without Revis because they'd only trade Rivers if they were going to rebuild and Revis would be useless in their rebuild

How are you gonna manage to keep Revis and Landry? Keep in mind we have a top 5 secondary without Revis.

With the money this would cost, Jets can't rebuild the offense. The NFL is an offense focused league now where a good to great O and a competent but not great D is how you win.

I do agree with your last point though-- Revis would be useless in a rebuild.

My point was merely that good QB>Great CB.

Rivers team around him got worse, he has to much pressure on him to carry the team. Give Rivers the Jets D and he probably wont press as much.

rivers could potentially be good for the jets, but are we seriously willing to give up revis for a guy who has been on a downward spiral? we can blame it on the chargers sucking ass, but what if he just isn't as good as he used to be. im not willing to trade the greatest CB in football for that risk

And what about the offense dude? The Jets have close to the worst offense in the league in a league that heavily favors offense.

You have to spend resources on offense. The Jets D was fine without Revis. The offense is trash!

extend Revis- low cap number due to guaranteed money then when Sanchez and Holmes come off the books his number wont hurt the cap

Landry- another deal with a low cap number for this year and good guaranteed money

right but still how can we justify trading the best CB in the league, someone all other 31 teams would deem untouchable

draft one, sign one, Ricky Sapp

our Defense was fine but still we complain about not building through the draft yet want to trade the best player we've drafted in like 50 years

keep Revis he's money, trade Cromartie if anything because he's inconsistent at times we know Revis is money 16 weeks, Cromartie who knows if he relapses

All other 31 teams wish they had a Revis hell teams are trying to get what we have in Revis and Cro, all we need is a pass rusher to get us off the field on 3rd downs

the offense is not a quick fix which is why the better the defense is means less points the offense has to score
