I’m not really sure how folks can watch that game and say he played bad. He played a pretty good game.

Part of the problem with Wilson is that he can’t engineer drives. It’s too much of all or nothing at this point and it’s almost like he loses focus at times throughout the game.

He stood in the pocket pretty well today though and while his pocket navigation still isn’t very good, he didn’t look to instantly bail on the snap like he has in the past.

Pretty much every “good” Zach Wilson play looks and feels like a Hail Mary to me.

I watched it, and felt he played bad. Quite bad. Still, probably one of his better games.

After almost 2 years his best games have been mediocre. His worst games give the team zero shot at winning. He may eventually be a serviceable back up if he can clean up the 2 or 3 horrendous throws he makes every game, but there is a close to zero chance Zach Wilson becomes what the Jets thought he would be when they drafted him.

I was all in on him last year, with my belief slowly being chipped away, game after game...I just don't understand how anyone could still think he is going to be good.

@ColoradoContrails, I know you are a Zach guy. What will it take from him to change your mind?

I understand how you can cling to blind hope. There was a time I defended Sam Darnold and blamed all other aspects of the Jets (Oline, WRs, RBs, etc.)…

You can’t make a playoff run without a QB. End of story.

He didn’t play bad. He threw for three hundo and got us into position to tie the game while only turning the ball over once. Quarterbacks jobs are to move the ball and he did that pretty well.

He’s still very boom or bust though. It’s like we need to merge Zach Wilson and Mike White together.

Anyone still arguing whether or not Zach is the answer clearly does not understand the question. The real question which needs to be asked is how long before the Zach commitment ends up burning down the house?

Too true. He is not good at moving the chains. It's all chunk plays mixed with failure.

He still showed some indecisiveness... hesitates before letting the ball go.
Can't wait to see the breakdowns... but I bet they'll show a bunch of missed opportunities.

I certainly don't disagree with the majority of this. But while he may not have bailed from the pocket as he has in the pass I think he really struggles in the pocket. I'd love to see a breakdown of his throws when in the pocket and out of it. To me every good thing he ever does is when he's scrambling. And virtually all his bad throws/decisions come when he's in the pocket. Im not even sure it is to do with pressure either. But you can't roll him out every play.

He may have played well by his own standards, but in comparison to a true starting caliber NFL quarterback he did not come close. 50% completion against perhaps the worst pass defense in the league. Made half a dozen quality throws. Missed a good half dozen easy completions. Got bailed out by his receivers half a dozen times. That, coupled with the eye test…. Not a good game.

I'll preface this by saying I did not read the previous 8 pages.

ZW is all over the map...great throws, good throws, pathetic throws, and so-so throws.

Wtf, did our D do to help? A check-down TE in the 4th qtr takes it to the house?

Does Saleh think we can take time-outs and roll it over into OT or the next game?

The bottom line for me, the OL lost this game.

    FYI-I'm double digits pints deep.

Zach Wilson will.... Never start again for the Jets or at least he shouldn't. Kid showed something during a pandemic season was over drafted, over hyped, and the results hasn't warranted anything else. The few remaining Zach fans can't argue the obvious anymore. He had a chance to "reset" and as soon as he threw a pick reverted back to the same old Zach. It's a broken record, the kid just isn't a starting NFL QB period.
