Wow, this team really pisses me off.

Wang gives up a single frigging run, and he's going to lose anyway.

Holy shit. Professional baseball shouldn't even be allowed to be played in a stadium where there are only 13,000 people in attendance.

To be honest, I'm not really big on the whole "captain" thing. My point was that - regardless of the value - you don't trade the captain. It just doesn't happen.

Also... RBI are more a function of your position in the lineup and the success of those hitters in front of you. You expect your RBI to go down when the guys in front of you aren't getting on base.

Aside from that, you haven't really seen that much of a drop-off from Jeter in terms of what he's done throughout his career (unless, of course, you are using the first month of this season to say "OH NOES! JETER HAS NO POWER!!"). He's a little below where he normally is, but well within what could be expected due to variance this early in the season.

"Turning to shit" is one thing... but you're talking about a guy who is still above the league average in OPS, despite his slow start. By the end of the year, I expect him to be right where he always is... with an OPS+ of 120 or so.

granted the RBI thing is not totally in ones own hands....and I did actually go and look at the stats and there hasnt been the dropoff that I would have guessed. Maybe its just perception, but to me it feels like hes starting to decline....not alarmingly quickly but steady

Well, there's a big difference (to me) between saying someone is "turning to shit before our eyes" and saying that a 34-year-old SS i "starting to decline.

ETA: And Johnny Gomes can lick my taint.

Imagine that Rays pitching staff when Price and Wade Davis are ready and if Edwin Jackson miraculously can start pitching like this, like he's capable of, on a regular basis. Goodness.

The Rays have developed into a very nice thorn on the sides of the Yankees, and like LTS said if their youth develops well they may just rip off the crown of the division off the heads of the Sox/Yanks in the future.

We can't hit. Cano? What the hell? He gets a contract and what the hell is going on? At some point you have to stop all of the "slump" talk and simply say he just needs a week off once ARod/Posada get back and let him re-focus on what he's done thus far in his career, and that's a very good hitter. Right now he looks like a Double A player.

Only think keeping the Yankees from being 10 games out now is that Boston sucks just as much as we do. Both look old and done. At least we have Arod coming back at some point.

Wow I'm surprised at how well Tampa is playing, they have a nice young team but lets be honest in defense of the Yankees having multiple guys making trips to the DL is killing you guys. It's tough to get consistency when there are different guys in the lineup on a daily basis.

BTW according to a buddy of mine who's involved with making the Vegas lines it's the 1st time in history that Tampa was ever favored over the Yankees to win a series against them.

Now people are calling for jeter to be traded? This is why it's an embarrassment to be considered a fan. "Jeter is turning to shit before our eyes"

We should still be able to score more than 1 run in 2 games, Tampa is definitely a quality team this year but there's no excuse for 1 run in 2 games, we still have enough good hitters in the lineup to score some runs.
