+1. Rex said he was going to show the teams that didn't want to hire him as a HC what an opportunity they missed on. When he finally gets his HC job, he is still nothing more than a DC. He should have stayed at Baltimore as a DC.
It is amazing that Fans of a team not even in our division who are not subject to watching the shit that is Schottenhiemer on an every week basis can be so spot on yet our Head Coach and GM are fucking clueless about it.
Tanny looks really dumb now. Why did he give him an extension? He could have waited until now and then fire him without having to pay him. Actually, he should have fired him years ago.
im gonna be sick....Rex/Tanny are the "milking woody" duo. (picture of Rex/Tanny smiling ,milking cow udders here)
It doesn't matter whether he will be back or not. Just that they do not have the balls to do it at the right time.
Rex doesn't even have the power to choose more than one draft pick per season. You think he has the power to fire Woody's good buddy Marty's failure of a son? This is not on Rex.
I think the crazier thing is that JAX actially interviewed Schott. Them and the Fins have both tried to interview Schottenheimer, and that's mind boggling. What have they seen in the past 6 years that indicates this guy can take over a team and win? LOL
This is disgraceful. Schottenheimer is the single biggest reason that this franchise went in reverse this year. Sanchez is the second biggest reason. If Schotty isn't gone this offseason then I will not give this franchise a fuckin dime next year. If Tannenbaum truly believes that Sanchez is the answer then many Jets faithful have overestimated his ability to evaluate talent at this level.
QFT The press conference is all smoke and mirrors. Tanny and Rex arent going to unveil the first off season moves (fires and hires) day after our last game of the season. Relax people schotty is gone.
Well, Josh McDaniels just signed as OC with the Rams, so the longer we keep Schotty, the worse off we are. Even if they plan on getting rid of Schotty, this whole smoke and mirrors thing that people think they are doing isn't helping our team.
Not getting fired isn't the same thing as signing as the OC. He was already their OC, he just didn't get fired like most of the rest of the staff. If the guy the Jets want is available I think they'll be talking. McDaniels wasn't a good fit for this team anyway IMO.
Our oc, oline and recieving corps (especially your avatar) are garbage. No doubt sanchez has been average. He can be above average with the right personnel. The guy led our offense in the playoffs his first two years. Ny jets are a running football team. Sanchez should be handing the ball off 70% of the time.
They can't wait too long if the plan is really not to have him back. A new OC has to be hired, in turn he has to hire his assistants and together they have to get an offense in place and bring in the players to start learning it. They can't wait long to do whatever they plan to do.
Unless the upgrade they want is available they aren't going to cut the guy they have. This is also about them trying to save Woody Johnson some money. If Schotty can somehow land a HC job he won't owe him the 3 year contract money.
Anybody who wants mcdaniels here as OC is insane. Get me Norv Turner. He's like wade Philips: bad head coach, top-flight coordinator guru.
oh I think they'll take Schotty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUBS7iZJQu8&context=C38573cbADOEgsToPDskLjbWoQsBNxS_WLXl52g-sZ
Wait...save Johnson money?..the team that threw 40 million away on Gholsten, about to throw another 7 (or 14) million away on Holmes and who knows what they might do with Cromartie who threw the offense under the bus...I don't think Woody's money is ever a thought in anything Tannenbaum does, unless maybe when he gives himself a raise.
