Guys. You guys are dead wrong when you guys say [Geno scares no one.]

    Geno scares Jets fans.

Last few years the Jets wideouts scared no one. If Geno is the starter this I'll bet not a lot of teams are going to load up box and dare Geno to beat them. Not with Marshall on one side and Decker on the other.

If we don't draft Mariotta or trade for Foles I'm more than willing to see what Geno can do under a new offensive coordinator before throwing the dirt on him, as long as we draft someone like Petty or Hundley to have in the wings.

Gailey isn't married to a specific system. We will still run the ball in 2015, just expect more balance with better talent.

Jets need guards next. Rebuild the oline

Then, they need someone to compete at QB.

If it's Geno behind center I hope we are not throwing the ball 30x a game. It should be run heavy with PA pass to manage Geno.

Hopefully, there will be more talented and more hungry competition at QB

The way I see it, if you're a new coaching staff / front office, do you want to start your new tenure riding the last GM's blunder?

Geno has done enough to warrant staying around as a developmental backup. He's not getting cut. So let's maximize that by bringing in someone to start. Geno can serve as the emergency backup and use the time to try to correct the things that prevent him from being an effective starter.

I'd bring in Sam Bradford. The guy wouldn't even potentially be leaving StL if not for his injury history. He's a great fit for the Jets because of his talent and upside, and if he got hurt AGAIN then the Jets can fall back on Geno, utilizing the roster to its maximum.

This is all operating on the premise that the "franchise" QB is not there for the Jets to take in this draft.

NFC championship game, Seattle's whole offense. We don't have the offensive line or Qb for a heavy pass attack.

Best attack is balanced, but Jets should be a heavy run team.

But you ignore the subsequent Super Bowl and the rest of the successful teams in the entire league? Let's also ignore the fact that Seattle simply had a bad passing day in the NFC Championship game.

Running is secondary to passing in the NFL and you certainly do not need balance

I am too....we're the minority obviously. I want to see them fix the O line and see if Geno with these WRs , a real O line and Chan's offense can succeed

It was Jets-Fins. You can't ever look at anything that happens in a strong rivalry game as indicative of anything other than the rivalry going in a strange direction on the day.

And most of the time, in the high 20s ranked offense. and not a good scoring offense.

There's a reason why teams pass first: the rewards are significantly greater. More yards, more scoring.

Running was always fools gold. You pass to score, you run to win. But you need to actually have a lead first.

We still lack several things that could make us an effective pass heavy offense. We lack the OLine to protect the QB. We lack the stretch the field burner WR to make the defense respect the deep ball.

On top of that, we lack the consistency and experience at QB and a new system is being implemented. Maybe by 2016, we can go pass heavy. For this year, Lets just get all our new pieces to jell into an effective system. We can get fancy in 2016.

    Patience people... Patience.

Actually, the Jets DO have burners, just not an every down burner. The fact is that the OL kinda sucks, period. Rushing yardage, to me, means nothing because defenses are going to let you have that because the likelihood of scoring is minimal. The OL needs to be fixed. period.

The Jets need to develop the mindset to score. A strong rushing offense is a luxury, not something that should be the first priority.

Well I did see a few deep completions last season but I thought those were a function of blown coverages and not just flat out speed. Who do we have on the roster that qualifies as a burner? Just asking the question..

TJ Graham has deep speed. Owusu has some speed.

Also, the Jets now have Marshall, who can get deep, at least deep enough to make the secondary respect the intermediate-to-deep passing game.

    It'll be a balanced offense
