It's definitely not a realistic signing. It'd be in this franchises best interests to re-sign "our" guys. David Harris and Santonio Holmes should be locks. Edwards will be a difficult player to re-sign. I'm not sure how things will go with Antonio Cromartie. I do want him to remain a Jet though. This team needs to focus on bringing in low-cost role players - guys that can play in rotations at defensive end, nose tackle, and outside linebacker. We also need to bring in a starting caliber safety. Dwight Lowery has stepped up, but someone like Dawan Landry would be a hell of a pick up.
I'm guessing Baltimore will be a candidate, Asomugha deserves a winning team and the Ravens have about 2 or 3 corners going into free agency this offseason.
Wherever he goes, hopefully its not for a stupid amount of money, we still are gonna have to resign Revis again in 3 years!!
How is Nmandi going to help cover the middle where the Jets are getting roasted? How is he going to help with the pass rush? The Jets desperately need more dynamic OLB's for the pass rush, some Dline help and a safety. Sign the guys the Jets have on the roster that are still young and entering their prime years. Nmandi is going to be 30 when the 2011 season starts, if it does. He is a luxury at this point, especially if the Jets can get a discount on Cro, SH, DH, and/or BE in addition to adding to the aforementioned positions.
The Jets do not consistently get roasted deep. They do however consistently get roasted in the middle.
Per Rotoworld: Former Raiders beat writer David White believes impending free agent Nnamdi Asomugha will end up with the Jets or Packers. "I know him well. ... Mark it down," said White. After playing for the Raiders for eight seasons, White says Asomugha wants to play for a proven winner. White added that the shutdown corner has said he'd like to play for Jets coach Rex Ryan and his best friend is Packers corner Charles Woodson. Asomugha will draw interest from virtually every team in the league as the best defensive player available, but fitting him under the new CBA's salary cap is another story altogether.
It could happen because we do crazy moves every year it seems...like every year we do more moves than any other team..so I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see something work out but I still highly doubt it happens.
