I can't believe Jeff Weaver is starting Game 1 of a LCS.

The Valentin bubble has burst, unfortunately - in his last 29 games he's hitting .188, with a .266 OBP and .365 SLG.

It's amazing that Pujols is such a threat up there that Glavine gets ahead 0-2 and Pujols draws an easy walk... never had to swing

It's very interesting how now people are saying that the Mets are the favorites, when everyone had them losing to the Dodgers in the NLDS.

Who had them losing to the Dodgers? I saw a bunch of people talking about how much harder it was going to be without their top pitchers but I don't think many people picked against them.

In the playoffs segments of Around the Horn and PTI (on ESPN), everyone (six people) picked the Dodgers.

Ok, my bad, I'm not a Mets fan so I really didn't pay attention to any of there stuff, I was just on this thread to mention how much of a threat Pujols is.

I am sick to my stomach that we can't hit the worts pitcher in baseball right now. Going back to St Louis with a split is a real threat now.

managed to get on a computer over here at my friend's

    a few observations:

1)Great defensive plays by Wright and Beltran (quick throws). Chavez got a bad break but made a GREAT recovery.

2)Glavine has struggled tonight. Scoreless, but he's lucky.

3)Mets are screwed because of Floyd. They needed that extra pitcher, as it turns out (the rain out).

4)Remember those two ridiculous strike calls on Reyes to make it 0-2? I got the impression that he swung at the third pitch thinking "I better swing at this because he's going to call it a strike even if it hits the screen behind home plate."

Worst pitcher in baseball? Weaver has pitched very well on the road.

Worst pitcher in baseball might be Oliver Perez. It's definitely not Jeff Weaver.

Don't make excuses for Weaver, he is terrible, he isn't the worst, he is slightly better than Perez for 2nd worst, but a terrible performance from our bats nonetheless so far

Even before this game Weaver had a 4.24 ERA over the last two months, so he's hardly the worst pitcher in baseball right now.

I do agree that the Mets need to be very careful here, since a run or two could be enough to win (or lose) the game.
