Rule of thumb #1--If someone has to tell you who it is and from what, it's not a celebrity. Rule of thumb #2--If said "celebrity" has to use the "Do you know who I am?" card, it's always funny.
Just a fun observation: Stubhub has sold about half of the tickets that they had available earlier this morning. Only about 150 remain.
I'm surprise no one has brought this up.....Perez is pitching tonight, who pitches game 1 of the WS? It's going to be Trachsel.
I just dont see them letting Duque pitch game 1. I just dont see it. Relief, possibly. But I just dont see it game one.
Dave Williams. There's also no chance of Trachsel being used in relief. He whines about how he's unable to warm up quickly enough to be used as a reliever.
If Oliver pitches in relief tonight(which means the Mets will probably lose anyway), but if they win. Then it's going to be Williams or Trachsel. And I think it would Trachsel over Williams, as it should be.
I really don't want to get ahead of ourseleves here, but I would be amazed if it wasn't El Duque starting in game 1.
Lets abandon this conversation though. We have some deadbirds to fry tonight! Lets get some runs up there early, and never look back!
I can't remember who posted it, but someone said when the Mets acquired Perez -- (paraphrasing here) -- "I hope the Mets don't let him pitch in the majors the season and just work with him until spring training to try and regain his form." Well, to whomever that was, I don't think you got your wish. I assume all of your have read this: http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2006/insider/columns/story?columnist=neyer_rob&id=2631757 O.Perez is statistically the worst starting Game 7 pitcher in the history of baseball...sweet...at least he has a claim to fame.
He has the 93rd worst career ERA of any game 7 starter. However, No's 92 and 94 are his opponent on the mound tonight, Suppan. Suppan also has a 5+ ERA on the road. I have faith.
