Not to say I told you so, but I told you guys in March or whenever that you would love Lo Duca. I wish to hell we never traded him.
2 of those starts with Suppan were pre-Piazza days Mets. 1998 with the Dbacks, and 1997 with the Red Sox.
for Mets fans who are uneasy like me: Suppan is another guy who pitches much better at home. So even if you don't trust Oliver Perez, chances are we'll be able to hit Suppan. Also, the friggin POWER of the TURKEY, baby!
Most catchers tail off late in the year, but watching him every game you get a sense of what he brings to a team. Especially handling the staff and hitting in the #2 hole, I was so pissed when we (LA) traded him in the middle of a season in first place. I say if the Mets wear the classic blue hats with the pinstripes and none of this black softball shit, you will win.
Wow, coming from you that's a bold statement. The only way to appreciate his game is to watch the games regularly, which I know you do. There's a Dodger board I post on, and some Moneyball-inclined guys still insist he wasn't any good. Even after you guys celebrated on our field with him, Green and Mota. After Piazza and now this, I'm just hoping you guys don't end up with Russell Martin in a few years. Good luck tonight.
Lo Duca has won me over as well. I wasn't a fan of the move, given his history of collapsing late in the season. But I've liked what he brings to the team. Whenever I watch, he brings it.
dunno... could be it's not. I always thought that karma was a player or coach coming on the show, but this guy was talking about karma. You might be right. But I'd still love for Rome to have a Met on. Oh well...
BTW, according to hotfoot, the Mets are going to be giving out blue ralley towels to all the fans at the park tonight.
