I don't want either Oliver on the mound tomorrow. Can't Porn Stache pitch or something?

I absolutely don't trust Perez, especially not on short rest. Darren Oliver just sucks.

Wagner in save situations this postseason: 3 IP, 1.00 WHIP, 3.00 ERA

Wagner in nonsave situations this postseason: 2 2/3 IP, 3.00 WHIP, 16.88 ERA

    What a freakin' idiot.

Last night, after Wags gave of that two run double to Taguchi I had one of the worst [sports related] feelings in my gut I've ever had, I lost complete faith in that moment. I was sure we would blow it. I don't think I can handle another close game like last nights. This team wants to put me in an early grave.

I guess the point of all of that is, I don't understand how you guys can't wait for tonight, when I still need a couple of days to recover from yesterday.

I had my moment when Glavine got pulled in game 5.

I am nothing but positive now.

I've stated before that the "closers mentality" and all that stuff was pretty much nonsense. If a guy is a good pitcher he's going to be good whether he's pitching in the 8th or the 9th or if the lead is 3 or 4. There may be something to it with Wagner though.

As I said last night I'm not sure exactly what his problem was. He went 2-0 on the leadoff hitter before battling back to 2-2 then gave up the hit. I believe he was ahead of both Rolen and Taguchi 0-2. He was throwing strikes, but he didn't seem to be able to put hitters away. Who knows what's going on inside his head.

wow, I'm really feeling uneasy today. Sending the worst starter in baseball to the mound on short rest in Game 7 of the NLCS?

I was kind of the opposite. I knew when Wagner came in that he'd try to blow it, but I kept thinking to myself "even Billy Wagner won't be able to find a way to blow this one."

Yeah, I'm a fan of keeping Wagner to what he's used to. I didn't really see why Wagner was needed, but I guess Willie wanted to get him some work anyway.

I prefer to keep closers to save situations.

As I said last night, I don't even have the slightest feeling of what is going to happen tonight. However, the one positive for the Mets is that pressure is really off them. I don't think many expected the Mets to win the series or even extend it to a game 6, let alone win game 6. And, again, with Perez on the hill versus Suppan who shut them down a few nights ago, no one is expecting them to win tonight.

Any chance Willie juggles the line-up tonight with Wright batting so poorly? Not really sure what he could do except flip-flop Wright and Green or bat Endy 3rd and Beltran 5th, (which really doesn't seem like a good idea.)

All things being equal, I would have said that it shouldn't make any difference, but as 3rd notes, for some reason it does to him. It isn't like we're the ones making this up, either, as we all know from his meltdown after the blown 4 run lead against the Yankees earlier this year.

I do wonder if Lo Duca (or whoever was actually calling the pitches) had something to do with it. It was obvious very quickly that he refused to throw a fastball with 2 strikes. The high slider to Rolen (a guy who cannot possibly turn on a high fastball right now) was inexcusable.

Other than subbing Endy for Floyd (and for Green once) Willie has used the same lineup in every game this postseason, so I don't see it changing now.

hopefully one(or both) of the carloses can get a hold of one with men on base tonight. with the way they've hit at home this year multihit games probably aren't too likely.

good news/bad news with suppan tonight
