    Have you been watching? They won 95 games in the tougher league, and had the best team ERA in baseball in the better-hitting league. They are very good, and are certainly better on paper than either the Mets or Cards at this point.

    the tigers are in the world series and the mets are sending steve trachsel to the mound in the biggest game of the year. argh.

    maybe the week layoff will hurt the tigers but i agree that at this point it's hard to see either the cards or the mets beating that team.

    That all may be true, which it is but I don't think they are good enough to assume that they have the WS locked up at this point..

    The Tigers remind me of the 69 Mets. Great young arms decent defense, timely hitting and a very good manager. Very tough to beat.

    this really is a terrible umpiring crew. are postseason assignments based on merit in baseball?
