nah I never bet on my team in big spots and after game 2 I knew they weren't gonna win. I was preparing myself for this. Lets just say my loss was more on a personal level

That doesn't help at all, infact it would probably make it worse if that is how the WS plays out.. I don't think it will though, the Cards played a hell of alot better in the postseason than they played during the regular season. I think they'll make it interesting.

Oh believe me I will pleasure watching the Tigers maul the Cards this WS. Can't wait to see Pujols (Herpes cold sore and all) deer in the headlights impression.

I can't look at a season ending loss as a great game, no matter what. Especially when they couldn't even be bothered to make contact with the ball in the 2 biggest AB's of the game.

That's my exact feeling, it goes back to game 2. Big spot Mota self destructs, game 5 big game Glavine gets robbed ona called 3rd strike on HGH and then he hits one over the wall ending Glavine's night. Tonight Valentin and Beltran self destruct. The goal isn't to make the playoffs we're not the Padres we play in the best city on the planet and one NY should be in the WS every year not some redneck dump in Missourri. The way I look at it and however it gets spun the season is a failure

Or at all the entire game, it is sad that other than the last inning, the last hit we had was the 1st inning

sorry guys. As much as we bust eachothers balls over NY baseball,i always like to see my friends enjoy a championship. It was a hell of a season for you guys, just a painful way for it to end. Detroit will absolutely kill the Cards and before you know it you'll be getting excited about some FAs and next season.

Obviously this game hurts more because it ends the season, but there is no way I'd feel better if this game had been like games 2 or 3.

I'll say one other thing, too - if they had to lose this way, I'm glad it was Heilman who lost it, and not Wagner. If Wagner had given up that home run, he would have had to be traded, and the Mets would have gotten pennies on the dollar and not had a closer for next year.

like I said to Drew, I'd rather watch my team get rocked in the WS than some team that backed into the playoffs. Remeber the only reason the Cards made the playoffs was because the Astros lost 2 of 3 to the Pirates

I couldn't disagree more, which is what makes the world go 'round, I guess.

Hey that's fine I don't look at you different, people deal with thinsg differently. The bottom line is when there was big spot the Mets didn't deliever once in this series and some catcher that hovers around the Mendoza line came through everytime

I just don't know how you can look at it objectively so soon after the loss. I'm not even in the mood for finger pointing, just depressed.

The worst thing of it all is that Bobby Cox of the north will get blown in the media even more because he moved Molina up 1 spot and how the average Cards overcame the big bad Mets. When people look back they aren't going to remeber how Pedro, Cliff and El Duque would have helped the Mets win in 5......

This I don't agree with. The Mets relievers and offense came up small all series long and that's why they lost. With the exception of Mota in Game 2 it was all guys they'd been going all year long with.

Don't be so sure a healthy (as if that is even possible) Pedro and Duque would have made that much of a difference. I'll give you Floyd over Rey Ordonez Jr. however.

WE both know it's a completely different series with a healthy Floyd, Pedro and El Duque in there. In fact I don't think it's a series at all. Unfortuntatly we'll never get to see that

Don't get me wrong there is alot of blame to go around starting with guys not named Delgado. Reyes had one good game, Wright maybe 2 hits, Beltran in clutch situations nothing including a dbl play in game 2 off of an independant league guy, Valentin one big hit, Lo Duca was he even on the team, Once they figured that Wright is the A Rod of the NL team in NY they didn't have to pitch to Delgado and that is a killer
