well I'd much rather watch my team get raped over a terrible team that caught alot and I mean alot of breaks.
Congrats on a Great Season Mets fan. Great game from an objective point of view, and a fantastic series in general. You guys have a lot to be proud of.
you know, we definitely had our chances. So many times the baserunners were there, but no clutch hit. It was perfectly set up for beltran, but he just looked weak out there.
Well, I can wear my Tigers hat again. If they played the Mets in the WS the Tigers hat would have been hidden in a bag win or lose. (The hat was originally bought because I was going to a DET-BAL game in May 2005. I opted to not wear it and went with a Yankees Suck hat instead.) I had been wearing the Tigers hat probably about two to three times a week for the past 18 months. Tigers in 4.
I guess that we have very different ideas of what makes a great or terrible game. Obviously I'm very disappointed that they lost, but games 2 and 3 were terrible losses - this one isn't at all. They got beaten by three pitchers pitching at an extremely high level. They started a kid everyone thought would be destroyed who ended up pitching well. They were saved for a few innings by a catch that ranks among the best postseason plays ever. The manager made some gutty (strange?) moves, and they worked out, and then made the popular pitching decision in the 9th and got burned on it. Be sad, of course, but I don't think any fan has any reason to be angry at all. This is baseball.
Sorry guys. Just keep in mind that St. Louis will get swept by Detroit. Just sign Zito and Soriano and you'll get there.
My bad. I just assumed that since you're a Vegas guy and the way you worded your last post, that you had big bucks riding on the Mets.
This was a GREAT baseball game, it's a shame that Endy's catch won't have the same effect on baseball history had the Mets won this game..
Just devastating... there is no silver lining in this loss, no moral victory in getting this far. Our season can only be construed as a failure now. What a pitiful effort by our so-called explosive lineup. Here's to a good off-season shake up and a big fuck you and thanks for nothing to the Mets.
Can you imagine the Suits at FOX Sports right now? I bet they're counting all the money that just went down on strikes with Beltran. Nobody is gonna give a fck about a St. Lou/Detroit series except the towns involved and a few diehards. Gonna be a hard sell to Madison Ave.
I know that you're gonna write me off as a smartass Yankees fan (as you have every right to do) but that was one helluva backbreaking way to end the season. I feel your pain. This certainly isn't the last we've seen of the Mets though. They were the best team in the NL this season (until injuries and tough luck set in) and they will more than likely be the best team in the NL again next year. Here's to Subway Series 2007!
