I've been a Jets fan all of my life....I want to see what a QB we drafted in the early 2nd round can do in a better situation with better players and better coaches. We had to suffer through his piss poor mistakes and now we're not even going to see what he's got at a time where you can pretty much tell yes or no I'm not even saying give him the whole year, but a few games you can pretty much tell if he's improved in some key areas I know some experts on here will tell you Geno will always be a rookie and it isn't possible to improve for him but let's see it first before writing off a 2nd round pick, especially when our next best option is a 33 year old journeyman who has scammed multiple teams into believing he could actually be a winning QB If Geno fails then go to Petty and if he fails to Hackenberg Another year treading water with Fitzpatrick is one more year away from finding a QB This is all assuming that Geno has done everything right behind the scenes....If he hasn't then they should have cut him already because he has no leverage
Hahahaaaa. Actually I think it's 227 intercepable passes. Every single one of his incompletions coulda shoulda been intercepted. Now that I think of it, probably 25 of his completions should have been intercepted too. Let's just call it a round 250 interceptions. Which I think would be a record. We probably should have gone 0-47 last year too. Man last year sucked. _

Did you even bother to look at some of the passes the person who came up with the 30 "interceptable" passes deemed as "interceptable"? Just on a quick glance at his site I saw 2 that were in no way "interceptable". Just from that I am going to guess there were many more. Just because someone gets a web address and pounds on his keyboard for a few minutes it doesn't lend legitimacy to what he writes. This in no way is to give a glowing endorsement to Fitz but stop with the made up stats.

He was absolutely reckless with the ball. I said it last year and Ill say it again. That Jets team last year had all the tools to beat ANY team last season. Whether or not they won is a different story. What held the team back was qb play, plain and simple. None were really a good option, and we dont have a good option this season either. Fitz or Geno they both equally are bad. But why pay a 33 yr old journeyman who the Rams told to go kick sand 10 plus million? Because Philadelphia was stupid enough to pay Bradford? Hows that working out for them? Unfortunately there's not really any better plan b period. So why overpay for a shitty qb youre just gonna cut in a year anyway? We not going anywhere this season, we missed that opportunity last season when big game fitz let us down. I saw all of las season and if you didnt aee 30 i dunno what youre watching. Marshall bailed him out. Jaws has come out and said it as well. If you you think Fitzpatrick was anything close to accurate, youre obviously not watching the same qb. Even. On completions he made easy plays more difficult than thwy needed yo be because of poor ball placement. I love how people get on this Fitzpatrick bandwagon but fail to mention theres a reason nobody else wants the guy. How low has this team sunk that werw desperate for someone like him to be something hes not. Hes never been a quality starter hes never gonna be and this team could have easily been a 11 to 12 win team with "average" qb play. Because only a few of his stats were even that. I have been a member here since 2003(!) and yet you think I'm here because of some QB that has caused more misery than joy in his short stint with the team? What the fuck? What I said in the above posts is exactly how I feel.....forget Fitz a proven loser who has never taken his team to the playoffs.....I don't give a shit about conference player of the week against some trash team out of contention, it means zero Save the cap room to give one of our core players an extension and let the young guys battle it out....I would prefer to see what Geno can do in year 3 because that is when you can officially write off a QB for the most part. Yeah i watch because i study the game. I enjoy the Xs & Os. Fact is more of his passes should have been intercepted and and he cost us more games than he won us. I mean nothing anyone says can detract from that the 31 tds isnt because he was a good qb, its because he had an all world receiving corps. 26 of those went to 2 recievers. Not all were bad throws made into tds but there were plenty of incidents were balls were thrown into coverage and Marshall made a difficult catch. Im not talking about using a recievers height to an advantage either. Im talking terrible throws that were made into positive plays because Decker or Marshall made a good play. Hes not a smart qb, hes not a good qb, hes a below average one that can easily be replaced. No matter what anyone here says, theres a reason the jets arent committed, to him nobody else wants him, and even the team is ok moving on. Touchdowns dont tell the whole story of his season. Which wasnt as good as everyone likes to think. He was a good reason this team didnt make the playoffs on a down year for the league asa whole. 20 percent completions on passes over 20 yards. Do you think coaches watch the film and dont notice what passes should have been picked? Do you really think they go oh well the stats only say 15?
