Fox Sports Broadcaster Maas Arrested AP Posted: 2007-07-08 01:18:22 http://news.aol.com/entertainment/s...oadcaster-maas-arrested/n20070708011809990001 PEORIA, Ill. (AP) - Former NFL player and Fox Sports broadcaster Bill Maas was charged with drug possession and weapons charges following a roadside safety check. The 45-year-old Maas and a passenger in his Hummer, Sarah J. Murphy, 27, were arrested late Friday by Illinois State Police. During the stop, police indicated Maas seemed nervous, and he agreed to a search of his vehicle. Police found a .22-caliber revolver, 5 grams of suspected marijuana, 6 grams of suspected cocaine and 28 pills of Ecstasy. Maas and Murphy were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Maas was also booked on a charge of unlawful use of a weapon. "We didn't recognize him until about 5 p.m. this afternoon," Trooper Tony Halsey told the Journal Star of Peoria on Saturday. Halsey said he had no idea why Maas and Murphy, both residents of Lee's Summit, Mo., were in the area. They were taken to the Tazewell County Jail in Illinois and will appear for a bond hearing Sunday before a county circuit court judge. Maas was drafted from the University of Pittsburgh by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1984, and was the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year. He was a two-time All-Pro selection. He played with the Chiefs until 1992 and joined the Green Bay Packers the following year. Maas joined Fox in 1996. From 1998-01, he served as studio anchor and game analyst for NFL games. Last season he reported games for the network.
Mother of Brian Urlacher's Son Accuses Him of Sending Abusive Text Messages Posted Jul 8th 2007 11:27AM by Michael David Smith Filed under: Bears, NFL Gossip, NFL Rumors, Chicago http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007...achers-son-accuses-him-of-sending-abusive-te/ Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is being accused of sending abusive text messages to the mother of his two-year-old son. In a court filing, Urlacher's ex-girlfriend, Tyna Robertson, says text messages he sent said things including: "Go to hell you f------ ----." "Grow the f--- up and quit praying and get a job." "You're a f------ fruit cake." "Your raising a little p---y." Robertson claims Urlacher ha sent her more than 30 text messages this year, calling her a "hooker" and "jealous b----." He also once told her, "make one of your pimps drive you around," according to Robertson. Urlacher's lawyer released a statement saying, "it is our past experience that much of what she claims is self-serving fiction," and there's certainly plenty of evidence for that. Robertson once accused "Lord of the Dance" Michael Flatley of raping her and sued him for $35 million. That case was thrown out, and Flatley is now suing Robertson for extortion and defamation.
well, she is a pussy. where's the problem? why doesn't she block him or whatever? Stop whining. the above is what happens when you sleep with crazy bitches. It's a mistake you really can't afford to make.
He said "you're raising a pussy" so I think he was aiming that at the way she was handling the kid. And she probably is nuttier than a damn fruitcake. Just another example of making sure you wrap that rascal so you don't end up with a kid to a wierdo. Not to mention paying child support for 18 years. The more money you make, the more you got to hand out.
I was in Chicago this weekend and read the Urlacher thing in the paper on the plane home yesterday. This is what happens when you have a kid with a stripper. Sounds like she's tried to extort money from rich famous guys before, and they don't publish her text messages to him. Still, it was a good read.
Chargers' Waters charged in S.C. dispute Mon Jul 9, 1:52 PM ET http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070709...rs_arrested;_ylt=AplqSjj.ChauORLbYiNB7QHIyLQF MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - San Diego Chargers rookie Anthony Waters was charged with hitting a man who threw a rock at his car on a highway. The 22-year-old linebacker was arrested last week on a simple assault and battery charge and released on $1,000 bail, Horry County spokeswoman Lisa Bourcier said Monday. No trial date has been set. Waters, a former Clemson star, was traveling on Nichols Highway last week when a passenger in a vehicle in front of him threw a rock and broke Waters' windshield, causing about $350 in damages, according to arrest warrants. It's unclear what happened next, but at some point Waters and another man struck Colby Sarvis, 18, and threatened to kill him, according to warrants. Bourcier said she did not know if the men had lawyers. Brian Rogers, 23, also was charged with hitting Sarvis. He and Waters were released from jail Friday, Bourcier said. Sarvis was charged with malicious injury to personal property under $1,000. Waters was selected in the third round of the NFL draft. He tore a knee ligament in Clemson's 54-6 opening win over Florida Atlantic in September and did not play the rest of the season. ___________________________________________________ Can't say I blame him. I would have done the same thing. (If I was a big pro football player who could actually pound the piss out of the bastards)
Rams' Brown suspended 4 games for violating NFL substance abuse policy July 13, 2007 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...slug=ap-rams-brownsuspended&prov=ap&type=lgns ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Rams cornerback Fakhir Brown was suspended Friday for the first four games next season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. The league didn't reveal the specific nature of the violation. Brown's agent, Ted Marchibroda, didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment. Brown's suspension will begin Aug. 31 and he can return to the active roster on Oct. 1, following the Rams' game Sept. 30 against the Dallas Cowboys. He is allowed to participate in preseason games and practice. Brown, 29, started 14 games for the Rams last season. He tied for the team high with three interceptions and had one sack. He missed two games with an ankle injury. He signed a five-year deal as a free agent with the Rams in 2006 after spending his first four NFL seasons with New Orleans.
Panthers suspend lineman Bridges for two games following arrest Associated Press Updated: July 27, 2007, 9:35 PM ET http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2952136 SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Carolina Panthers suspended offensive lineman Jeremy Bridges for the first two games of the regular season, a day after his arrest on a misdemeanor assault charge. Team spokesman Charlie Dayton said on Friday that Bridges will be allowed to practice with the team when training camp begins Saturday morning. Bridges was arrested Thursday in Charlotte, N.C., after a woman who works at a strip club accused Bridges of pointing a gun at her in the parking lot of the club. He was released on $3,000 bond. Bridges reported to training camp on time Friday and met with coach John Fox and general manager Marty Hurney, who said they were collecting information on the incident. Bridges will miss games against St. Louis and Houston. The NFL's collective bargaining agreement allows teams to suspend players up to four games for conduct detrimental to the team. Depending on the outcome of the case, Bridges could also face discipline under the NFL's new tougher conduct policy. The 6-foot-4, 326-pound Bridges was signed by Carolina last September after starting left tackle Travelle Wharton sustained a season-ending knee injury. He eventually moved into the starting lineup at right tackle when Jordan Gross moved to the left side to replace Wharton. With Wharton returning from the injury this season, Bridges was expected to compete for a starting job at guard. Bridges, who played at Southern Mississippi, spent two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and started 11 games before he was cut in training camp in 2006. The Panthers were impressed with how he filled in last season, and he was a candidate to remain a starter this season. __________________________________________ WTF is it with these players and strip clubs? I honestly don't get it. You have money, fame, the world by the ass and you're hanging at a strip club? <shakes head>
Yeah there is a limit, but I seriously doubt that there is enough stupid people in the NFL to approach that threshold

Bills Defensive End Anthony Hargrove Arrested Posted Aug 5th 2007 11:11AM by Michael David Smith Filed under: Bills, NFL Police Blotter, Buffalo http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/nfl/ Bills defensive end Anthony Hargrove is in jail this morning accused of striking a Rochester police officer, R News is reporting. Hargrove is charged with harassment, criminal mischief and resisting arrest after an incident in which Rochester Police responded to reports of fighting and arrived to find 300 to 400 people on the sidewalk. Police used pepper spray to disperse the crowd, and Hargrove was unintentionally sprayed. Officers say Hargrove then struck a police sergeant in the face, breaking his glasses, and that when police tried to subdue him, his brother jumped in. Both Hargroves were taken into custody.
Banning him was a great step in the right direction, but would it be too much to ask that all his posts actually get deleted? Wiping any trace of his existance from the board would make the whole place just feel smarter.
Formally charged Police nab Bears' Briggs for leaving scene of accident Posted: Monday August 27, 2007 10:28AM; Updated: Monday August 27, 2007 9:59PM http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/08/27/bc.fbn.briggs.lamborghini.ap/index.html LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- His new black Lamborghini careered into a light pole and a concrete bridge support in the middle of the night, and police say Lance Briggs left it there. Now he faces a misdemeanor charge, but the outcome could have been much worse. The Pro Bowl linebacker was not injured, nor was anyone else, so the Chicago Bears let out a sigh of relief Monday. "To me, that's a good day when you know what type of accident occurred and to see him on the practice field," coach Lovie Smith said. Briggs was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, a misdemeanor, after crashing his Lamborghini Murcielago and abandoning it alongside Interstate Highway 94 around 3:15 a.m., Illinois State Police said Monday. After meeting with police Monday afternoon, Briggs was also given traffic citations for failure to give immediate notice of an accident and improper lane usage, said Master Sgt. Luis Gutierrez. Briggs was released after posting $100 bond and is scheduled to appear Oct. 4 in a Cook County court. Leaving the scene carries a maximum 364 days in jail and a $1,000 fine, Gutierrez said. No one was in the car with Briggs and no other vehicles were involved, Gutierrez said. "As a result of interviewing Mr. Briggs, it was determined that he was the driver of his 2007 Lamborghini," police said in a statement. Gutierrez said it was "undetermined" if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, that Briggs was not tested and it was too late to determine if they were a factor. Bears spokesman Scott Hagel declined to comment, except to say that the team was "aware" of the charge, and NFL spokesman Biran McCarthy said in an e-mail that the league "will look into it." Smith said the team would not discipline Briggs, whose "spirits were good for being in a one-car accident." "He hasn't broken any team rules, as far as I know, so there's no reason to," Smith said. "At 3 o'clock, you'd like for your players to be in. Beyond that, people out at those times of the night are not always getting in trouble." Defensive end Adewale Ogunleye said Briggs told him about the crash on Monday morning. "He said that he crashed the car or something, and I had to get to meetings, so I didn't have a chance to talk to him," Ogunleye said. Briggs, who has not addressed the media since reporting to training camp late last month, did not make himself available during Monday's open locker room period. He left practice to meet with authorities by the time reporters were admitted. Briggs' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, was not available for comment, according to his brother Jason, who works for Rosenhaus Sports Representation. Jason Rosenhaus also declined comment. The temporary license plate showed the luxury Italian sports car -- which has a Kelley Blue Book value of more than $350,000 -- was purchased Aug. 3 in Texas. "He's here and he's healthy, thank goodness," defensive end Alex Brown said. "We can replace the car. We can't replace Lance. We're glad he's OK." News of the crash follows a rocky offseason for Briggs, who helped Chicago reach the Super Bowl last season. Upset that Bears slapped the franchise player tag on him, Briggs told the team to remove it or trade him. He also said he would sit out -- at first for the entire season and then for 10 games. He eventually accepted the one-year, $7.2 million franchise tender offer in late July, and the team agreed not to apply the franchise tag in 2008.
