Collinsworth just said Miles Austin is "built like a running back." Uh, no he isn't. I'll tell you who's built like a running back... MARION BARBER III
No one was saying it was a conspiracy against the Jets, just pointing out that NBC slipped up on that one. Dan Patrick specifically said, "...the last game in Giants Stadium," not their last game in giants stadium, which would imply that the crew thought the Jets would not play there next week. Dungy made the same mistake earlier in saying that the Jets would be playing in Cincinnati.
Dallas inside the 5, 4th and 1, Suisham will kick, because they have confidence in him from short range. He gets it. 17-0. This game is over.
no pressure on Campbell now, as Dallas is being conservative, but he's making some awful throws. I get the feeling he's happy the game was decided early so he could talk about FavreFavreFavreFavre the great Favre, the competitive Favre, Favre Favre.
hmmm, so Dallas hosts Philly next week for the NFC East. I knew it was scheduled, but it finally clicked that Dallas actually has a pretty good chance of getting a home playoff game. They beat Philly on SNF a few weeks ago, so they'd obviously hold the tiebreaker if they won. Philly at Dallas, 1 PM There's a chance they could play two weeks in a row, because depending on how the seeding shakes out, one could be the 3 or 4 and the other the 5 or 6
I never claimed anything about a conspiracy - in fact, I specifically said it was poor research on their part - but you're mistaken. They quite clearly said that it was the last game at Giants Stadium, and they repeatedly made clear why they were saying it also (they thought next week's game was in Cincinnati). Not everything is Jets fans being paranoid.
It's annoying to see players preening and hollering about meaningless plays when the game has long been over.
And that is officially it - the Giants are eliminated from the playoff picture. Sorry, LTS, but not really.
Not only did the Redskins lose by double digits, but they got shut out. What a horrible game to watch. Dallas didn't play especially well, it's just that the Redskins came out with another stinker like the Giants game. Everyone except for jeff, shut it off before you have to see Francesa! I imagine jeff wants to see what Ole Mikey has to say now.
With the Giants at 1? I hope so, because I want to see Cowboys-Eagles. And of course I want to see Fatcessa, Yis - I want to hear some expert commentary about elite defenses!
Unless I'm mistaken, it looks like 3 of the 4 wild-card match-ups will be rematches of Week 17 games--Phi/Dal, Arz/GB, and of course, Jets/Cin. When's the last time that happened?
Francesa throwing Umenyiora under the bus. He thinks Coughlin is going to get at least 3 years to turn this team around? Somehow I doubt it - after last year's playoff debacle and this year's collapse, if they have a poor year next year I think Coughlin is gone.
I don't believe what I just heard - Francesa just predicted that the Jets are going to win next week (of course, only because the Bengals have nothing to play for, but still).
Yeah, Giants at 1. FOX has the doubleheader, so we'd get Giants-Vikings followed by Cowboys-Eagles. CBS should give us Dolphins-Steelers at 1. That's what would make sense. Since the Giants are on the road and the Jets were flexed, we get three games. All 16 games on Sunday. Man, the red zone channel sure will be busy.
