People rooting for Cincy are out of their minds. If the Ravens win out, and beat the Steelers, we could take the Bengals spot instead.
Not true. If Baltimore were to win today and lose next week, then Cincy would get in no matter if they win or lose next week. However, they would playing to WIN, not knowing the outcome of Baltimore's game. It would be bad for the Jets to play a motivated Bengals team in week 17.
So you're putting your faith on the Oakland Raiders to win next week? They might, but that's just stupid. If the Broncos and Ravens win this week, we're pretty screwed, since both probably will win next week. But if the Bengals lose, then it's win and we're in. I don't care if the Bengals are motivated. We're either playing them or New England in the postseason. If we can't beat a motivated team next week, we definitely aren't the week after, so what's the point? Rooting for the Bengals is asinine.

its pretty incredible that we still have a shot to make the playoffs...that bein said, usually u win ur games n when u rely on sum1 else to lose, it doesnt happen...BUT now it seems as if what we need to happen( games tha dont involve us) is all happening...DOlphins losing bad...Jags losing bad...Pitt/Balt is still a toss up but doable...its still up to us to win our games but the things that need to happen r happenin we have a chance to put the season into our own hands going into the final week, and we have the chance to defeat the Colts and and the unbeaten streak...if thats not enough motivation i dont kno what is
Again, you're assuming the Ravens beat the Raiders in Oakland week 17. I understand your argument and you are correct in many ways, but I just disagree. Hopefully Balitmore loses and this is a moot conversation.
