I'd argue his versatility is what makes him a top interior lineman in this league. I'd also argue Watt didn't get all his sacks playing 5 technique either, as most teams vary their assignments in the Nickel, which is becoming increasingly more utilized. Being a menace against the run, while racking up 10+ sacks while lining up in multiple places, is exactly why he's one of the best. Personally i think Watt, Wilk, and Ngata are the cream of the crop in terms of versatile big D lineman.
Just imagine the Lions moving Suh around the way the other teams move the three above. It's partly defensive style. When you're in a 4-3 you're more likely to just peg a guy in a single role and leave him there. Among other reasons you tend to have two smaller guys outside designated to set the edge and rush the passer. That pins the big guys inside the 3's.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-top10...Streater-Nick-Mangold-Khalif-Barnes-Eric-Wood 42. He sheds linemen like they're nothing. It looks so easy for him. I was hoping they'd have my favorite play of his, but they had plenty of footage
BTW if you want to hear something funny watch the Matt Stafford video, at 2:10 he goes full Thad Castle.
id like to see decker in top 39------this would give us 3 in top 100----with 32 teams on average there should be three on a team and decker in top 39 would give us that three the top teams like Denver sf seattle pats have about 6 in top 100----my concrn is that rex has been here 6 years and should have had at least 6 in top 100 until we have more stars we aint going anywhere and I don't see how sf Denver etc can pay these guys the top dollar and still be under the cap and we struggle with so so guys year after year
Considering Demaryius Thomas was #49 I don't expect to see Decker on the list. And if Decker was ahead of Wilkerson I'd be astonished.
Decker won't be on the list, he's a versatile possession receiver. I'm glad we signed him, but he's not a game changer.
If those teams don't draft well they will end up in cap hell. We ended up in cap hell because we (A) had the fewest draft picks in the NFL and (B) gave massive, bloated contracts to aging players (which were backloaded by Tanny to hit in the 2012-2014 period). We still have a few massive legacy contracts on the books but mostly have worked through that, and we'll have to see how well we've drafted in these past two drafts. I have a feeling that the post-Peyton era isn't going to be kind to Denver.
Whoa. Now just wait a gosh darn second here. I thought Geno Smith was the best player on the Jets so wouldn't that make him at least #42 on the Top 100 List if not better? I mean the noted and highly respected GG authority and expert, Jetfannerd, said as much in topic of his most recent thread so what the heck gives? I'm as confused as Footballgod214 sitting down to take his final exams and trying to figure out who is actually the smart kid (and not the retard) to sit next to so he can copy the test answers.....
