Meh, not bad value in the 4th. Would've preferred Jackson or some help on Oline but oh well.

    I like it.

We do not want to see him on the field next year though.

that was my initial reaction too but mayock made a good point... it safegaurded against another team trading with the jags to take petty.

we had 3 7ths, i dont mind moving one to make sure we got petty.

Thank goodness its not Hundley...every pick from here on in should be O line and a punter thrown in

Don't see why this changes much

Geno is still the guy everyone wants to take the job....Fitz is the safe backup plan and Petty is the developmental guy

Looking at the NFL.com Draft Tracker, it looks like the Jets only gave up their last 7th round pick to move up the one spot. If so, then definitely worth it.

Bryce Petty & The Heartbreakers...that's what they'll call our Offense

dang, was hoping we would snag sample later in the draft.

was nice to see Mauldin getting pressure on all those interceptions

I can't get on board with this pick. Does anyone know what we gave up to swap picks with the Jags?

This is the dumbest post I've seen in a long time. Let's see if Petty can develop into a #2 before we talk about him as a #1

Ok, well I bet someone (Bills?) had a deal to trade up with the Jags and we beat it to get Petty. I'm glad that we took a Qb in this draft, though I personally liked Hundley better.

Petty threw the ball better than Winston and Mariota at the combine. That's promising.

There are already 2 developmental QBs on the roster. There's no reason to take another guy like this if you aren't sold on your first one. If they wanted Geno to take the job the would have given him an O lineman here.

we have to find the answer at QB - probably Petty wont be it but we don't know that yet and the only way we can guarantee we never get the answer at QB is fi we stop trying to find the answer - so happy enough with the pick and decent value

Not bad, move up 1 spot and give up our Mr. Irrelevant pick for a QB with some potential. I'll take it.

Petty is only 7 months younger than Geno.
