Maybe Geno needs the competition to step his game up...

This reminds me of last year when half these bums thought Boyd was going to win the starting job or better yet that he even had a chance lol I hope Petty turns into a good #2 but I'm not expecting it.

glad clemmings is gone. wasnt high on him and now people arent going to keep screaming for us to take him.

Trenton Brown is the tackle we should target

yup. and thats why i was so adamant that geno needed to start all last year. so that we could conclude for once he wasnt the awnser and get a great look at him to make that evaluation. sitting him for vick would have just pushed that evaluation one year down the road

glad the FO isnt sold on geno. i dont think petty is some shoe in to be great or even win the job at anpoint but i like the options

Geno stepping up and winng the job/playing well is still what's best for our team

Still don't get all the hate for him from Jets fans....If he fails, we just go to Fitz but it's not good for our team

How does Boyd compare to Petty? By what measurable??

As Ive said all along, if you watch college football you have to give Mac an A for this draft.

That would be great let's not fool ourselves. Gino has been trash for most of the two seasons he's been here. I am all for an open competition this summer. If he wins, he wins. But the bar has been set so low by his anemic and pathetic play, I'm not expecting much.

not thinking he is someone we can have success with isnt the same as hating him.

he isnt a franchsie qb, he isnt someone you can contend for a championship with. can he improve? yes? but even if he doesn he wouldnt be good enough to get the job done. we need to do ALOT better.

it doesnt really matter who wins the job this year. this is still year 2 of a rebuild

That's fine even though I'm a little more optimistic

But I just feel he's like an enemy or something when it comes to a portion of Jets fans....Let the guy see what he can do in year 3, our new FO has nothing invested in him so if he plays he will have shown he deserves it

If not, oh well and move on

Fair enough. And for the record, 2013 I applauded the pic. He was well worth a second rounder. But his performance has been abysmal.
