    That would be unfavorable.

Yes, because teams wanted to get the BPA... not because this isnt a deep draft. HUGE difference that you're ignoring. This is a deep draft with lots of talent. Its worth it to get back into it. The Raiders just gave a 4th round pick for Josh McCown and Mike Williams to the Lions. We can easily get a 4th round pick for Eric Barton and David Barrett or Justin McCareins (and mix of 2 of the 3). We need more youth on this team at certain positions -- offensive line to name just one.

Leonard could play fullback like he did at Rutgers

Rams offense is going to be insanity. Jackson and Leonard is a big, tough backfield and they're both really good pass catchers. Not to mention Holt, Drew Bennett, Issac Bruce, Randy McMichael and Bulger running the offense. Sweet zombie Jesus.

I think they were because they didn't like anybody farther down. Nobody gives up as much as some did to move up in the 2nd. Actually, most don't trade at all to move up in the 2nd. It's rare to see what happened today.

You know, I'm really starting to think that poster Don sniffed out something several hours ago that we've missed out on. Quite a few teams are selling their whole draft to get guys in the 2nd.

    Good eye, buddy.

I think we are done until the 6th. The only thing we have now to trade is McCareins and everybody knows we will cut him if we can't trade him. Anybody else is worth more then what we would get in a pick for this year's draft. Unless we trade a player that includes picks in next year's draft.

Yes but that doesnt mean that there won't be great players in the 3rd or 4th round WORTH TAKING! Holy closed minded argument batman! We NEED DEPTH! We're gonna get that with 4 picks? Will we? What are you a magician or something? We need depth and we have EXPENDABLE PLAYERS. It would be WISE to get back into the 3rd or 4th ROUNDS... why is this so hard to understand?

Im sorry, I dont intend to sound mean or angry... im just not understand why you're not grasping this, Don.

I started thinking that when I read a couple days ago that all the GMs were saying there were, at most, only 17 players in this year's draft worth first round money. That had to mean everything below would really snowball down in worth.

I think teams got bored of waiting and started trading up.

There have been a bunch of trade-ups. Not sure what that's about. It's not possible for a 255 player draft to be devoid of talent after the 2nd round. You can get unfavorable runs where a section of the draft looks poor but to suggest that the entire rest of the draft is not worth investing in is guaranteed to be inaccurate.

The thing that has me annoyed today is that instead of taking the best available player at our picks we tried to be smarter than that and trade up for a few people we saw as guaranteed value. We did this after having an amazingly injury free season. I smell us paying in blood for our draft transgressions come August and September.

Which also means quite a few teams are trading out and stacking up on picks, no?

I don't think there is anybody in those rounds that would make the team, that's all. You can only keep 40. Sure you can draft a ton but you have to pay them something and then cut them anyway.
