This signing has potential to be like the Landry signing last year. I just hope we get to keep Winslow if he does well.

THIS. Especially because our organization is clueless and lethargic and we need all the help we can get on offense.

    Plus, he's a warrior

When we signed LaRon last year, I was worried about his heel, but he ended up playing a probowl season for us. This is a low risk high reward signing. The offense gets a little better here.

It was either going to be Kellen Winslow jr. or Johnny Mitchell's comeback attempt, so I'll take Winslow,

Still think we should have kept Keller, but this is a solid low-risk/high-reward move.

I think this is a bit different than last years Landry signing. In an interview I read just before his signing Winslow stated that both he and the Jets know that due to his physical limitations he won't be an every snap player. (sorry but I can't find the link) So, while this is a good signing let's not get too carried away.

Wish we would have drafted the kid from ND but hopfully Winslow can be productive enough to get us to next years draft.

Still not 1 TE who can block on the roster..

i do like this move though, as Winslow is an excellent route runner and Cumberland no where near a starting TE.. cheap vet talent at a position of need. well done.

  12. How many TEs left in the NFL can block??

The position has changed. It's about attacking the middle of the field now. Odds are if your TE can block they're either a very rare breed or you aren't with the times. TE no longer means undersized linemen. Now it means athlete.

If a team needs another blocker on the field they'll have a back-up OL report as eligible.

I hope that's where Revis concentrates...especially if Holmes is playing....but I'm thinking you had something else in mind with that.

Winslow was a better blocker than Keller. I agree that we need people that can catch more importantly than blockers, although Winslow can do both.

Come on guys, you can't spell Winslow without WIN. Of course you can't spell it without SLOW either, but hey whatever works.

I'll take the signing. Let's hope he can stay healthy. I'll take a healthy Winslow with around 700+ rec. for the year. Maybe 7 - 10 TD's.

Two years ago we would have broken the bank and predicted a 100-catch season for him. This way is much better.

He may be slightly better than Keller as a blocker but not much, and that's really not saying much.

Winslow cannot block. At best, he's slightly better than Keller which is still poor. Why do you think he can block?

  20. Agreed.Even Rex said he can't block. They're basically desperate for offensive production in the passing game.
