I personally say that's it for El Duque... I know he's only around 70 pitches but he's somewhere in his 40's and injury prone as it is. He gave us 6 strong, but let's not run him into the ground this early in the year; especially with a 4 run lead. We NEED him healthy. Give Schoeneweis the ball in the 7th, and then go Heilman-Wagner to take Game 2.
I think that's a good call... He gave us 6 spotless innings.... Maybe let him go 7, but that's as far as I'd let him go... If the first two games are any indication, the top of our rotation is going to be sweet this year... Now let's see about Maine
It took 6+ innings, but the Cards are finally making soem solid contact.... El Duque escapes just giving up 1 though
Well the one positive about the HR - Wagner is now in a save situation if we don't kick their bullpen's ass.
Just got back from a week in LA and turned on this game LETS GO HEILMAN! TIME TO REDEEM YOURSELF. GET PUJOLS OUT!
Good win tonight, El Duque looked sharp. Lets shover the flag and rings up their asses tomorrow with the sweep!
They are really working the pitchers over. I hope they keep this approach. Love that we are facing Looper. Time for some longballs.
Almost game time, facing Starting Pitcher Braden Looper, still can't wrap my brain around that one. I don't know which is more insane, Looper starting or Eckstein as a World Series MVP?
