I mean all fantasy sports. Favre **** the bed when I waited on a QB and drafted him during his Jet season. Holmes **** the bed two years ago when I drafted him too. The Jet D was bad one of the years I drafted them (forget which). Never really had a lot of Mets on my fantasy teams to begin with, but I don't play fantasy baseball as much as football though.
Mets are hitting .181 in their last 9 games, striking out once every 3.4 at bats. They are 0-7 in the games after Harvey starts. Yikes.
I just had this discussion with a guy I work with, hypothetically Tejada throws Ramirez out on Tuesday night and the Harvey has a perfect game through 9 innings but it's still 0-0 do you send him back out for the 10th or do you pull him and leave it in the hands of the bullpen? I don't really know the answer, I think his pitch count was 106 and Santana never recovered from the 127 or whatever it was to throw his no hitter. I think you send him back out but at the first sign of trouble yank him. It really would have been interesting to see what would have transpired if Collins was in that spot.
I think with only 106 pitches you send him back out, but as you say, with a short leash. One hit of any kind and I think you definitely take him out; you might even consider it after a walk.
The intrigue alone is what makes me wish it happened. I think I saw that he was the 1st pitcher since 1906 to have that stat line and not get the W. I think 19 guys have done it in that time and gotten a W.
Wheeler getting the start tonight against the Dodgers AAA club the Albuquerque Isotopes. In his last two starts Wheeler has a 0.69 ERA and 12 K's. Hopefully he keeps it up tonight because with numbers like those it'll be hard to justify keeping him down.
SNY guys say this is the A-team behind Matt Harvey. But I disagree. Why is Lagares starting against a righty? That's not the A-team.
what a catch by Lagares I can't really capture it in words, so go watch a replay double catch while trying to make a shoestring catch
Wheeler pitched another gem last night... 7 1/3 7 K's 2 ER. Hampsen blew the save but ended up getting the W. Wheeler has only given up 3 ER's in his last 23 innings pitched. Might be time to bring him up.
I guess Valdespin has been benched due to his antics, but I'd certainly rather have his bat against a righty than Lagares. Harvey out of sync today, Pirates lead 2-1
The Mets seemed perfectly ok with Valdespin getting hit-by-the-pitch. Way to back up your team mate guys.
Scott Atchison is 37 years old. He looked like he's 50. He's pitching like he's in his 50's too. I'm starting to feel about Ike the way I felt about Jason Bay. This team makes me wanna drink :drunk:
I get that they don't like valdespin, So why not trade him? Instead they let another team try to teach him humility. I can't think of a better way to show that you have no team unity.
