Clearly Cleveland was and I would argue that on paper the Yanks were a better team then the Angels. It ok, I don't mind even if you were rubbing it in, I'm not a Yankee hater like most Mets fans are. My argument is that if there is no expectation there is no disappointment. The Mets have been a far bigger disgrace then the Yankees, I wouldn't even try to argue otherwise. Mets have been a really bad team for 2 plus seasons now, disgraceful. Yes. Disappointment. No.
That Cleveland team was very good. Sabathia and Carmona that year at the front of the rotation was silly and they tied with the Red Sox for the best record in baseball. The Tigers were the only team since 2004 that the Yankees lost to in the playoffs with a worse record. In 2004 the Red Sox did too, but they still won 98 games are clearly weren't an obviously inferior team. The Yankees haven't been losing to bad teams in the playoffs. This isn't the NL where .500 teams make it in. The AL has one playoff team with fewer than 90 wins since 2000, maybe longer because that's when I stopped looking.
All in good fun bro! Ahh, I see where you're coming from. Any Mets fans I know think the team is a disappointment though. The organization has made great moves, not the least of which being getting Santana. Nothing has worked out though. I can see where you're coming from though, if you truly haven't felt this team was as good as they are on paper. I watch almost no Mets baseball whatsoever, so I can't say one way or the other whether I think they're honestly a good team that underachieves or not. Absolutely agree with you. I didn't use a text formatter, but if I had, the emphasis would have been: Maybe you could argue Cleveland. The maybe is only because they play in the AL Central where the division is always up for grabs. Those teams beat each other up all year, so you never know if the division winner is legit or just lucky. I wasn't aware of the 90 wins statistic. Impressive, but not surprising.
Of course. That's what it's supposed to be anyway. Good ol' Red Sox / Yankees bantering. It's what makes the rivalry so much fun and so fulfilling when you win and so frustrating when you lose
Thats great! Serioulsy though, someone could make a highlight reel for 2009 for the Yanks on Youtube and still be able to fill a good 10 minutes worth of awesome moments this year. So many thrilling victories for the Yanks thus far, im not used to this...
Just another Mutt fan not being objective. K-Rod could do a sommersault out there and buddy would still be preaching he doesn't showboat.
When did I say he doesn't showboat? I said that's the way he pitches, and the showboating is his own celebration for, you know, winning the freaking game. At least his is after the game is over, Joba does in the middle of the freaking game, when he's already given up 4 runs sometimes. They both show emotion when they pitch in their actions, get over it.
I am over it. The point was several people were bashing Joba when their own team has a hysteric retard of their own. I could care less what anybody does out there if they are doing their job.
Coors Field is always being mocked. I hear a lot about Yankee Stadium this year, but that's because it's Yankee Stadium. You know, the replacement for the hallowed stadium? Plus, I live in New York and the New York media is all over it. Coors Field is still being bashed for being a joke, and it really hasn't been a joke since they made the adjustments with the humidor. It's not even the #1 hitter's park any more, and a lot more pitchers are now able to pitch effectively there.
MLB quality vid is a million times better than You Tube, however. Plus, they played one vid after another, after another, from different angles, it was awesome.
