Honestly what Joba does is heat of the moment. He does his fist pump while he is going off the mound and he promptly goes into the dugout. Most of the times he does his fist pump away from the batter. I get pissed off when players stare at the opposing team or wait at the plate and take a picture of their home run.
I don't understand where the same people are that shit on Joba when Manny takes 5 minutes to stare at his home runs.
I thought a fist pump was an accepted form of celebration in sports? K-Rod does a fuckin cartwheel out there every time he K's someone.
Players could do fucking Ocho Cinco shit after Ks and homers for all I care. I don't understand what the big deal is.
He spent the first inning whining non-stop about how the supposed jetstream pushing balls out to right was a disgrace to the game or something like that. And of course the fact that every homer in the game went out to left didn't stop his "OMG TEH BANDBOX!!!1!" hysteria.
Um... yeah. But what's being said is far more than that. And if you don't see a difference between an "embarrassing" home run and the overreaction that the media (and many fans) have made, I don't know what to tell you. I can qualify it and quantify it rather easily, if not exactly. I used to watch Sportscenter and listen to sports talk radio religiously. I don't anymore. Now I catch it when I can, and listen on occasion. And yet, this year, I have probably heard more about the HRs in Yankee Stadium than I heard about Coors Field in all my years of watching sports coverage. Like I said, it might not be exact, but considering how much less time I spend following this stuff in the media, it'd have to be a pretty frikkin' low probability that I'm mistaken here. Add to that the fact that it makes sense that the Yankee Stadium would receive more coverage than an expansion team, or a smaller market team, and I don't think more qualification is necessary. As for being "faux sensitive" to this criticism... I'll just point to what I said before. I'm perfectly relaxed about this. This is more about other people needing to lighten up. There will be cheapies at this stadium for the rest of the year. They can either get used to it now, or complain every time a cheapie happens... despite the fact that the opportunities for cheapies are there for both teams.
No, he's saying they are, but the same Jet fans that bitch about the superior attitude of Pats fans (and apparently Giants fans) do the same shit as Yanqui fans.
Damn you guys whine like crazy...117, you usually go nuts and smash a keyboard on the floor...Why the crying of changing sports. Classic. I'm queuing the "Here it is, another typical Yankee fan"
I'm a Mets/Jets/Knicks fan...I'm not from New Jersey, so I don't see why I'd be a Nets fan, and I don't follow hockey. I'm not saying Jets fans shouldn't be Yankee fans, I'm just saying that method of trash talk and argument is hypocritical. Which it is; you haven't even denied that.
What about the Jets/Yankees fans who have never complained about Patriot fan base arrogance? Such as yours truly. I, then, cannot qualify as a hypocrite. If my team(s) were that dominant I'd be taking pride in it too. Talk isn't cheap when you back it up right?
