Wow, Phils are now only 1 game behind the Braves, and it's only in the last week that they've actually been playing all that well. There is the Mets' offense in a microcosm - 1st and 2nd with 1 out, and then two completely unproductive outs to end the inning.
And with our 2 and 3 hitters, no less. Last year, at this time, we were on a 9-1 road trip, the trip that really seperated us from the pack for the rest of the year. We need a streak like that, and soon.
That was a terrible play by Reyes. Someone said that Wright was the only one showing anything...it was on display there.
This is tough to watch, Philly clawing at our heels, in the midst of one of the toughest stretches (schedule wise) in the history of the team, and nothing seems to be coming together. Mama said there'd be days like this. We just have to keep plugging away, thinking positively, hustling, and any other cliched nonsense you can think of. Fuck Willie, do something damn it!

there is nothing Willie can do. he doesn't do anything to get them to play well, so he doesn't know what to do to turn it around when they aren't.
This is one of the most pathetic months I have seen as a Mets fan and we've seen a few of them over the years. Our team is absoluetly horrible right now. Hopefully the series with Skanks coming up these guys will find the motivation to actually play some baseball above the Single A level. Short season is getting ready to start and the way these guys are playing more than one of them belong in Brooklyn.
