Can you please tell me how spending 1.3 Billion dollars is "going on the cheap". And by the way did you see the pSLs Jerry Jones has announced for his new stadium. I beleive it is 15k per seat for end zone nose bleeds and
    150K for 50yd field level.

    Is this what you want?

Jesus God Almighty! I wasn't aware of this. Is this true?

This is what I'm talking about. There is no way the average ticketholder is going to be able to afford this kind of shit. This is why I've been a big proponent of the shared stadium. I'm damned glad we've made this deal with the Giants now and I hope it'll eliminate the above or at least greatly diminish it. That's absolutely off-the-charts outrageous!

I would be perfectly happy playing at giants stadium and keeping my tickets vs playing at new stadium and loosing my tickets due to a psl.

Yeah, you got that right. I've got 4 tickets, so if I was down there I'd be looking at $16,000 x 4 = $64,000. That's nuts.

The thing people don't realize either is, this is "dead" money. Completely dead. It's not only the $64,000 you're tying up (and don't have the use of), it's the return that you could be making on that money. You're basically giving the team an interest-free loan, while you, on the other hand, are probably paying interest on that money one way or the other (through a mortgage payment on your house or home equity loan or car payments, etc.).

PSLs here in Jersey would all but eliminate the "family" season ticketholder. It's all going corporate anyway... seems like the only reason they're building this new stadium is to cater to the corporations and big money concerns. The little guy is out the door.

I never thought I'd ever say this, but there is no way I'd be able to keep my seats if I have to cough up $64,000 cash + the upgraded price of the tickets each year. And who would want to? For what, End Zone nosebleeds? No thanks.

I sure hope it doesn't come to that in the Meadowlands. Maybe the only hope we have is that it IS a joint stadium and probably makes a whole lot more economic sense than the Irving, TX fiasco. The shared stadium with the Giants is starting to look better and better to me all the time.

I use Gate C in the upper righthand corner of the picture.

You know, looking at that picture, it reminds me that there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that stadium. The more I think about this, the more pissed I get. This is a total f@ck job on all the ticketholders. And any local fan who's not a ticketholder but likes to attend an occasional game with his family, you can forget it too. If they jack the prices, the increase will also be passed on to you one way or another.

There's going to be some crazy, pissed off Jets/Giants fans if they try to raise the prices.

You keeping railing about the NYJs turning from a "family" team to a "corporate" team due to the upcoming PSLs. Honestly do you think for 1 second Woody cares where he gets the PSL money from? I am sure the only important thing to him is just getting the money not from where it comes from. Hope you agree. There is nothing that you or any season tix holder can do about. No different then in GB where is there was a storm of protest I mean a storm & you know what the PSLs went thru & the GB season tix holders either took loans to pay for them or they lost there seats. The exact same thing will occur here

Your scenario about the Brooklyn Dodgers is exactly mine as well. I was 17 when they departed Brooklyn for the left coast

I do agree, but it's not just Woody, it's the entire NFL. It's just a business now... has been for years, I guess. I'm just hoping I can still keep my tickets because my family still enjoys going to the games. If my kids were to have to pay for the tix though, it'd be a different story. Young people today who are trying to get ahead just can't afford today's ticket prices let alone what it will be after the new stadium is built.

I was born in 1945, so I don't know how old I was when the Dodgers left town, but all I know is, I was devastated. I loved all those guys... Roy Campanella, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snyder.... ripped the heart right out of the NY area, and I was living in Linden, NJ mind you, not even in Brooklyn!

The BDs left Ebbets Field after the 1957 season which would have made you 12.

As for the NFL or the NYJs or Woody all the railing in the world will not change things one iota so no matter what your feelings will not be taken into consideration by the powers to be. In the end as I said your choice will be pay or give up it is really that simple.

Since you are only 5 years younger then me I would think by constantly bringing up the subject it is more depressing then constantly B & Ming about it knowing the end game has already been decided & all of us season tix holders will be the losers

I haven't heard anything about PSLs for the new stadium yet. I see a $1.3 billion stadium - $600 million cam from the NFL (300 per team correct) you split the remaining $700 million in half to $350 per team. You now take what is veing called record breaking naming rights, more luxury seats, more advertising money .. it would be ad if they forced fans out to make a few bucks on PSL fees.

You can see from the aerial shot that the new stadium "footprint" is larger. This is another thing that disturbs me, because they're "spreading out" the stadium again...like Shea was (is). They're "flattening" the seating area and in so doing, putting most ticketholders further from the action than we were before!

So let's get this straight. Poorer views of the game, more skyboxes along the sidelines forcing previous ticketholders to move further toward the end zones and putting them even further from the mid-field action, still no roof, higher ticket prices and only a pick up of 4,000 additional seats. All with a probably higher ticket price and possible PSL.

Well whoop-tee-do! Aren't we just a lucky bunch of f@ckers!
