I can't see that happening. I think Woody spoke out against Kap's actions, and with him now being a US Ambassador, it wouldn't look good.
Thank you. That is your freedom of speech and I respect that. But the big picture is you do not get to cherry pick the parts you do not like. Its like all of nothing and I hate saying that. Take the Confederate flag. That chaps my hide and it has a deep ugly history behind it. But its inbedded in some states flags. Also the burning of the flag is one I dislike but it was deemed freedom of speech by a right wing led Supreme Court. I apologize to the board for this quasi political talk. No further comment from me on it. Thank you again evojoe.
you fucking guys made it through Jason taylor as a jet but would leave if cutler or kaepernick came? seems odd to me. granted I walked away from the rangers when they brought in Lindros. fuck that dude. and fuck Jason taylor too.
Get outta here. I'll take that bet. You're as much of a metaphorical masochist for the Jets as we all are. Minus the whole sexual gratification part of it.
Actually, Kaepernick has taken a lot of steps to trying to fix what he's been protesting all season. Like him or hate him, agree or disagree, he's keeping his promises and pushing for what he wants to see happen. https://theundefeated.com/features/...aking-good-on-his-pledge-to-donate-1-million/
The problem here is that there is no such thing as a "NO" vote. No "None of the Above," no referendum, just a listing of "more of the same."
It's actually nice that we can talk and disagree on this topic without all the violence and name calling that seems to be going around on both sides . I just disagree with a lot of what the NFL allows to happen and the politicizing of the game . The acceptance of players walking out with arms raised regarding the "hands up don't shoot" lie , all that crap . This really isn't a left vs right argument for me , it's more about my personal view of what I feel is a right vs wrong . Again , just my opinion I miss the times when sports was an escape from all the crap in the "real world" and not a platform to make a political or social statement . It's like we have no place to go to escape anymore . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sports have always been a gateway to change or protest in the world. Joe Louis fighting Schmeling, Jesse Owen winning in Munich in 1932. Funny how the Germans let him ride in the front of the buses there but when he returned to America he couldn't. Muhammad Ali refusing to be drafted. 1968 Olympics in Mexico and the entire boycott of the 1980 Olympics in Russia over their invasion of Afghanistan.
Excellent point...I wasn't even thinking about that. I think I'm just burnt out with everything that's been going on in the world . Those vacations to Mars can't come soon enough for me . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kaepernick is like the equal and inverse of Tebow. This is America, and you can vote or not vote, pray or not pray however you want. You can keep it to yourself or you can tell everyone about it. It's the weird situation of these two "Quarterbacks" that they are quite bad at football, but are somehow famous football players. If that works for them....well, okay. Please don't let the Jets be the team that had them both. It's bad enough they had one.
I totally get what you're saying. The problem is that the players are human, and they have opinions on things they are passionate about, some of which are political. With team owners coming out and publicly supporting candidates and getting appointed to be US Ambassadors, it would be very difficult, if not hypocritical for the league to say that the players can't express their opinions and views. Our society has definitely changed. In some ways, it has changed for the better, but in many other ways, it has changed for the worse. But even that depends upon which side of some of the issues one is on. A house of worship is the only place that can be free of politics, and even then some of them are very political. I hate politics, and have mostly tried to stay out of them over the years, but I'm seeing that we all need to become much more involved. I think one of the reasons that so many things have changed for the worse is because that most of us didn't want to be bothered with the ugliness of politics. I also think a lot of people woke up during this election cycle and were tired of the status quo in politics and wanted change. I think that is definitely why Trump won, for better or for worse.
AlleyCat ---I hate Cutler but think he can play,I would not like the signing and would hate the amount of money Cutler would cost,,I hate Kaepernick because I think he cannot play and is bad. I would call Kaepernick " the straw that broke CBG s back " .I am pretty fed up with the entire Jet organization /Woody / coach/ questionable GM/ ticket reps/new stadium fiasco and that all stems from 50 years of disappointments and also the well documented PSL /New Stadium crap ! 2 things that I thought I could never do, one which I have already done , was walk away from my Jet season tickets and 2 walk away from this team if the sign Kaepernick , Where would I go if this happens ? if it happens I will let you know . ps can we just fast forward to a year from now and get the wasted 2017 season out of the way ?
I'm not impressed with the after hours good done by Kapernick ,or any other QB. Just give me one that can produce yards and the wins will come. NO to Cutler, Romo, Kapernick and Taylor. Let some team looking for backups because they feel that they can get to the Super Bowl in 2017 sign them. I' willing to wait a year without drafting a QB. Let the two we have duke it out and see what happens.
