I hope we get him for a 4th or later. Would not be happy with any pick earlier than that.

Well, considering he was 2nd round tender, I think you'll be happy.

I know it's a bit premature, but this would be the best backfield we've had in a while.
How are his pass catching skills?

Not great, but better than Greene. Goodson should compliment him well with his pass catching ability

Maybe in the last year. But LT and Greene combo was pretty damn solid.

If he is had for a 5th we won't be drafting a back this year. I'm kind of disappointed because I think this draft is extremely deep for quality backs. The upside with Ivory is that he has Some experience, and is a hard runner. He does need to stay healthy and wouldn't be a cheap as a rookie 3rd rounder.

I agree, there were a few good backs to be had. I guess we can focus on other areas instead (I.e. LB, TE, Oline, S, etc.)

That's a positive, we can now pick a safety, WR, TE sooner than we would have if RB was still a need.

    Powell for Ivory, draft Maysonet

    Ivory- power back
    Goodson- speed back
    Maysonet- pass catching back

    Goodson is the pass catcher.

dont wanna overwork Goodson or Ivory

I guess so, but catching is one of his main strengths. It's also one of the reasons he joined the Jets...with the west coast offense he'll have a lot of opportunities to catch the ball in open space.

Either way, Ivory/Goodson/Powell is a nice backfield. Trade Revis, get Warmack and Jarvis in the first, pick up a TE and safety in rounds 2 and 3.....then come the playoffs!

Ina 2 back system no one gets overworked dude! Addin Powell that does a bit of everything well and will be used as well. McKnight will also be on the roster as a ST guy and he is adept at catching passes...

In the end, let's focus on other positions in the draft.

ivory will be more dependable than a rookie in pass pro. rookies are normally slow to grasp blitz pickup. ivory for a 5th is much, much better than a rookie in the 3rd/4th because there will be less reservations of leaving him out there in passing downs

Remember that we have Powell for passing downs who is great at pass pro (for a RB)

That's deceiving..he was undrafted which meant he could only be tendered as a 2nd or a 1st..also why nobody had any interest in him as a second. Expect him to be traded for a 5th-6th.

    Good call.

The best part is that now instead of using a third rounder on a RB and a 5th on a safety or lineman we can use that 3rd rounder on a better safety or lineman (or whatever, you get the idea).

Ivory would be a solid addition.

    I wouldn't spend more than a 5th rounder though

I hope Idzik is still looking at Lattimore even if this does go through.

    4th is the earliest I'd go. He'd be a great pickup for a 5th.

When he's on the field, he's extremely impressive. The key is keeping him healthy, but rotating with Goodson and Powell should help.
