I don’t think so to be honest. It was a while ago but I used to work in marketing and deal with major cable providers/TV channels trying to sell us ad packages. You’d be shocked at the amount of data they had ten years ago, I can only imagine what they have now. Fair on the TV deal, but the major networks will always pay for a pro sports league because they’ll make back 3-4x in advertising whether viewership is up or down.
they are saying the NFL, which previously stupidly agreed to something like a 10 year TV deal, is going to see this $75 Billion NBA deal and try to get out of their current contract early to get in on the $$$ long term I think basketball's future is brighter, they play it across the world unlike NFL and its stars are more marketable without helmets and injuries
KP injury could be big, but it still would be 2 all stars and barely any help vs 4 all stars and a deeper bench.
Luka is 3 and no D. What's even funnier is that Kyrie is looking more mature than Luka right now. I never thought I'd say that. Luka needs to grow up and start actually working out, bulking up and improving his defense. He could learn a thing or 2 from Kyrie. I don't know how he gets away with being so out of shape, maybe that's just his body type. Last night, he was a liability on defense all game. The complaining wasn't a good look either. Yes, some were bad calls, but he was complaining so much that I can't blame the refs for the late game fouls that knocked him out of the game. How many open 3s did Boston get while Luka was yelling at refs instead of playing defense? This guy is like Zach Wilson after putting up 3 points to the patriots. Blaming everybody but himself.
I can’t believe I got this so wrong, I expected the Mavericks to be better. Celtics were definitely the real deal and not just a good regular season team.
Ok now time for the draft. You can knock the NBA (I do every chance I get) but they are second only to NASCAR in turnaround time.
My son is a huuuuuuge NBA fan and he breathes and dies for Brooklyn Nets. This years draft is at Barclay's center. So I got tickets to the draft. Will go to the draft with my son. I don't even like basketball. Ugh.
If it weren't for the Spurs and seeing Wemby develop at light speed, I probably wouldn't be watching at all.
I'm glad the Celtics won, they are a great team. That said, I do have a soft spot for Jason Kidd, as I was a childhood Nets fan. It was a fun final series for me to watch. I hope next year the Lakers make it deeper into the playoffs. It would be fun to see Lebron win another Championship.
I didn't want to make a whole new thread since it's the off season, but the Knicks are making some big dog pitbull style moves. Trading 5 firsts and more for Bridges and paying OG 42m a year? They are not messing around. Now to see what they do at center. They could stick with Mitch Robinson and add depth They could resign Hartenstein and possibly move Mitch or keep him as backup. They could package Mitch and tonight's first round picks for a decent center or to move up in the draft. Leon Rose continues to impress me, it was finally the right time to go all in. OG is getting overpaid but I'm pretty sure he's got the Bird exemption so it helps with the cap hit. If they do manage to resign Hartenstein, I'll be pretty hyped.
